Ah LV city of contrasts. Today it was very windy, in the low 80s, and it was trash day. Tried to walk this morning, but dodging flying cereal boxes and stray milk cartons, along with tree branches proved impossible.
I got an email from Teresa Burritt a bit ago. She posted a letter from someone named Shena informing her that Frog Applause will be ending October 10th. I can post it after turnover if anyone is interested.
The high winds yesterday morning whipped the fires here up real good. Yesterday the smoke was thick. It was a red day for most of the day. It turned gray in the afternoon. I have a co-worker that lives in the vicinity of the fires. Her daughters place was being threatened, and they had been given prepare to leave warnings. I haven’t heard anything since yesterday morning.
Turned VERY cool here yesterday. 66 when I got up and stayed that way nearly all day. The wind made it seem even cooler. No a/c needed last night. It 59 when I got up an hour ago and it’s still windy but not like yesterday. I’d say fall is a’coming’ but it’s supposed to be hot again this weekend. Yesterday we both had blood work done, got flu shots and had to get new smoke alarms. Ours are over 10 yrs old and have been going off. Brad’s been here to fix them but yesterday the one in the den went off and I couldn’t reach it with the broom handle. (15 ft ceiling) I had to have him come home and take care of it. The poor cats were going nuts – the chirping hurt their ears. I closed the den doors, tossed them in the bedroom and closed those doors. The high school is only about 5 min down the road so Brad got here quickly. The new ones will go above the door frames.
Yes, it’s quite reassuring that Jack and Chesney are off to the dog park to cause chaos and mayhem. On another note, saw two robins, a dragonfly, and two rabbits while out walking today. It was quite warm today.
This afternoon I drove across I-40 today to my soybean field to dump out chicken bones for any hungry critters. No houses near there and many acres of forest, so there are always hungry coyotes or raccoons or…armadillos (ha). A doe stuck her head out of the woods and looked at me, then bounded back and huffed at me a while. I guess she thought I should have brought corn, but that’s illegal.

Poor dogs. You go to the park to relax and have some fun, and these annoying felines show up and ruin everything.

It’s drifting north of the border too but not as bad from what I’ve seen in your neck of the woods
Great ! Now we can look forward to a big fat lawsuit for damages by the Canuckians.

The cats invade the dog park. This can only be good.

I think Chesney is right. He and Jack can take care of most of the dogs there if need be.

I see Chesney and Jack are going to get in trouble again. I’ll bet a nickel that they will blame their predicament on Annie.
