I went to Best Buy once to buy a cordless phone. They had it on sale for $2.99 (normally $15.99, I think it was.) When I went to pay for it, they tried to upsell me the extended warranty for a small price of $3.99. I told the sales person I could simply buy a second phone as a spare for less than that.
But even when the item is normal priced, an extended warranty (or a cell-phone protection plan, etc) is still WAY over-priced and the profit margin on those is out the roof.

The bank has a secret switch for when they receive that final payment! Beware if the check bounces!!! ;)

That is how a two year warranty works. Soon as you’ve paid off something, it breaks.

Extended warranties are a rip-off.

The horse is probably interested in knowing when the loan comes due.

I drove my Honda Accord 15 yrs and 350.000 miles. They cost a little more but are darn well worth it.
