This is the series of strips that brought me to Frog Applause in the first place. It’s heartbreaking, but that heartbreak is happening to far too many little, innocent souls around the world on a daily basis.
I would hope the Gamesmasters at GoComics might realize that Frog Applause has immense social value, that some things in life are just as important as clicks and eyeballs on ads, and repent of their ill-considered decision to send Frog Applause into oblivion.
I believe these installments of “Series in Progress” ran on 03-11-07, 04-29-07, 10-07-07 and [the link to the last one is broken or I have misplaced it]
(at one time you could called them up using the hashtag “series in progress” but stupid gocomics)
Well, Teresa, if it helps at all, you have a following here that loves and respects you and cares about what happens to you. While we are dismayed at the treatment you are receiving from GoComics, we think you are strong enough to carry the Lame onward, on a different path. Probably a more difficult path for you, but take some strength from the love and affection of us all. I don’t know how much bread that will buy, but it’s not nothing.
Yes, we have seen this “series in progress” before, Yes, it may help explain some more recent occurrences (shuttering of Frog Blog; brief disappearance of new FAs; closing of T.s FB account). Why I have not made much about my discovery of 1979.
And if it touches GoComics, in its heart, assuming one, so much the better. Or if not, then we can kick GoComics to the side of the road. There are lots of places to look for comics, and the saving grace (but not saving Grace!) of GoComics was its convenient grouping of many in one place. If inconvenience is forced on me I can cope.
This series broke my heart the first time I saw it, and it’s broken my heart again. Much love and healing energy to Teresa (and everyone else who wants it), and thank you for finding your voice and speaking out. <3
Standing with you Teresa. The bluebird of happiness can be fleeting at times, but still, through it all, you have managed to bring so much joy to so many people. In my book, that shouts Victory!
Part of me wants to hide my eyes, close my ears, run away.
It took decades to even remember, and then many years to examine, “feel”, come to terms and accept. Years to learn how to cope and change instead of hiding for reasons I never understood.
I often contemplate how awesome the adult people around me were, how patient, how generous, how open, and just generally decent. As a person from an alien world… welcome.
I noticed that the Dragon Girl strip, which I have been reading for a while (even though I could have gone back to the beginning and read the whole story – I looked forward to each new page) mysteriously disappeared without warning. Does anyone know of any other strips that have suddenly disappeared or who have received an eviction notice?

There’s no such thing as a bad girl. Or a bad boy.
Watch “The Bad Seed” and ask yourself why those adults blame the little girl for the way they raised her.
Bad things don’t happen to you because someone said “You’re bad.”
One of the best things I’ve done in life is to say “Tell yourself ’It is not my fault”" to someone who needed to hear that.

some of the most powerful Frog Applauses ever…
… you can’t fight darkest with darkest…
…yet platitudes also seem to fall flat…
… I understand the trying to make yourself seem small…
…I have spent most of my life trying to be invisible…
…shadows of my 6 year self, my 12 year old self…
…stay at my feet and stretch out…
…but there is good in life…
…no matter how small or fleeting…
…thank you, Mz. Burritt for being the light…
… the bit of yourself we enjoy and marvel at every (well almost every:) day…
…you are not alone…
…thanks for being brave enough …
…to help us be brave enough…
…no punch line required

Sometimes you have to let these things go. If they come back licking ichor off their paws, that’s a good thing.

Sad/inspirational
One hopes that what originally inspired it was not/has not “continued”.
But sadly:

And in a few weeks, you will fly away, hopefully, to a much better site that will not cancel you for no reason.

Your art speaks eloquently for the troubled among us who often mutely struggle with the incomprehensible in our lives. Thank you.
