I have a Cat Hat that is part hand muffs as well. The black fur slightly hides the ears. So… I put earrings in the ears! One side has a skull head. The other side has a full skeleton. And both ears have little witches hat earrings! So the hat… has hat earrings!
Happy National Black Cat Day!!!!! Sorry Scaeva, I had to jump in, but I’m sure your description will really make the day!!! I have a purrfect panther princess snoozing stretched out, face down enjoying the warmth between my knees. Nushi WILL be getting an extra treat tomorrow!!!!!!
Several years ago, one of my hospital admissions (series of back surgeries to treat scoliosis) transpired in mid-October. My beloved orthopedist, Dr. Hall, asked me about my plans for Halloween and I got the idea to go dressed as a doctor. He sent me home with a mask, a hat like the doctor wears in the OR, and a pair of latex gloves as his contribution to the costume.
Does anyone here have trouble with their cats eating dry food too quickly and then gagging it back up? How have you handled this, if so? Do those labyrinth bowls I see recommended for dogs work for cats? My Raven almost always does this, and while it doesn’t make a big mess (usually just a few small pieces come up), it’s not fun to listen to, or to clean up last thing at night. (The cats get “breakfast” right before I go to bed.)
(Wet food is not an option; they get wet food during the day.)
A pumpkin, and therefore I am late. It was my wife’s birthday and I had a morning doctor appointment. Apropos of the day turning into a pumpkin, it was National Pumpkin Day.
World Howl at the Moon Day: canceled here because is was cloudy. Drat. Wolf, I hope you held up the side.
National Mule Day: Mules are perfectly docile and obedient creatures—you just have to get their attention first … (If you don’t know the joke I’ll tell it on Sunday Funday.)
Chicken Fried Steak Day: (legal holiday in Texas) This is what you do with a steak that more resembles the hide of the cow than the meat, although that is seldom remembered now. You beat the heck out of it (“tenderizing”), bread it with something (to hold the oil or grease in which the very dry meat is cooked), and fry it. Head ’em up! Move ’em out! Rawhide! (cooked to edible consistency)
My Wife’s Birthday: We got gyoza, sushi, and sukiyaki from our favorite Japanese restaurant. There were no survivors. Yes, the cats got some.
Theodore Roosevelt’s Birthday: There are a lot of reasons he is on Mt. Rushmore. He was also a very admirable, very human being.
National Black Cat Day: As cat lovers, we are all aware of how hard life can be for black cats, even for those who, like Puck, have some white markings. So those of us with panfurs should give them a little extra attention today … like ham … or bacon … or sashimi …
National Potato Day: Let’s hear it for spuds! One of the most versatile foods around. There are ~4,000 varieties. A member of the nightshade family, no one should eat leaves, stems, or flowers of the plant. Green potatoes, especially with sprouting eyes, can be quite toxic to small people and children: https://www.poison.org/articles/are-green-potatoes-safe-to-eat-191. I note the if they are not too far gone, removing all the green is usually effective. Otherwise cut them up, with a chunk of potato for each sprout, and pot them for planting next spring.

My daughter always wanted to combine costumes like the Boy. Princess was a base, but then – princess pirate, princess werewolf, princess witch.

Where did the woman find such small traffic cones? Are they part of a kid’s safety town scenario?

The Boy is lucky. All my costume ideas are shot down, thought to be fair, they are all based off of video games.

Puck looks concerned in second panel. How incredibly talented an artist, to convey bemused concern with just a black circle and 2 ovals. Amazing!

Ever think that if a few more politicians had dressed up as Robot-Tiger-Vampires when they were young, they would not be such old poops now?

My sister’s cat has this issue. She just slowly doles out food in small servings all day long to Miss Elliot…. generally it seems to work ok.

Those traffic cone hands are not ideal for collecting candy or even holding a bag to collect it in. Think this thru Boy!

Robot tiger? Wasn’t that a Hanna-Barbera, or maybe a Looney Tunes, gag? Some character made a robot tiger so they could do something or other.
