Damn, that’s a good idea. I am getting my GF a cheese log for Christmas. And she won’t act like it’s a weird thing. Because I don’t date people who won’t be made happy by a gorram cheese block!

Switch out the Cheese log for a Gift Certificate to the Cheesecake Factory .. Winner!

‘Tis the season to flood mailboxes with all those catalogues of cheeses, sausages, nuts, and other edibles that, I often wonder, does any one really eat? (Not unlike the fruit cake I received some years ago that’s still doing duty as a doorstop.)

My wife once complained, “So what am I supposed to get you for Christmas?”

“Um. I don’t know.” I wasn’t really thinking about getting something. Had 2 little boys to buy for. That was fun.

“Well,” she said. “You always get your husband slippers, but you don’t wear anything like that. You’re always barefoot!”

Jon will now trade it for a fruitcake. (He’s doomed, regardless)

Last Christmas I asked my wife what she wanted. She said “I don’t care. Just get me something expensive that I don’t even need.” So I signed her up for kidney dialysis.

Just don’t get her an appliance.

Liz should have known better than to be coy with Jon, he’s just too clueless.

This year I have no idea for Mrs. Last year I had a jeweler friend design her a pendant. I gave him the parameters, up to 2 carat in VVSI diamonds, in white gold. I liked what he came up with. Mrs was bowled over. Walked by his shop a couple of weeks ago and see that he has duplicated it and is selling it in slightly different version this year.No problem for me, at the rate he charges me….he can duplicate all he wants.

Excellent gift choice! In Wisconsin, a cheese log ( cheddar please) is a great gift, along with a six pack of good beer or bottle of wine. :)

A few Christmases ago I tried the trick on the Pandora teevee spot, putting a jewelry piece inside a new skillet, then wrapping it.

Gina fell for it hook, line, & sinker.
