Looks like Daisy just barely managed to hide the wayward bottle under his coat as he hurried out the door. That’s what you call a very close call! Tracy at least provided him a useful distraction, but he also called attention to himself by accidentally bumping into Tracy on the way out. Still, I don’t think Tracy noticed that anything was amiss.
…And make haste out of there. Will Tracy give chase and then who should be coming up the walk, from the other direction but Sam who Tracy calls out stop that man, and down he goes. One more gang member gone ?
Pacing is everything. Right now, we have a rapid opening game. As we settle into the middle game of this chess match, things may slow down a bit, but Yeti’s Square Blue Bottle of poisonous scent seems to be retrieved into the inner pocket of Daisy’s coat, and despite drawing attention to himself by bumping Tracy, I think he is making a safe getaway for now—I don’t believe the clerk-girl saw him snatch the bottle. But Tracy will not forget Daisy’s distinctive appearance, and that may cost him (Daisy) later….
On the other hand, if by chance the clerk did spy what Daisy did, then we may have a pursuit and foot-chase, giving Daisy maybe a 50-50 chance of escape….
We’re back to nonsensical coincidences. It was one bottle in a shipment. That happened to be the one bottle they picked out for a sampler? How would Yeti know that was the bottle they had chosen and would be out as a sampler? And Daisy doesn’t know their product well enough that he has to get a description from Yeti? (If it were different from every other bottle in the shipment it wouldn’t have been chosen for the sampler, so it must look like their usual perfume bottle.). Waiting for Daisy to tell Yeti, “It’s not blue? Didn’t I tell you I’m color blind?”
We’ve been making some assumptions here, I think. here’s what we actually know at this point from a review of all the strips so far:
1. Rabbit accidentally shipped one bottle of poison, mixed in with a regular perfume shipment.
2. Three people collapsed in the same boutique.
3. The doctor at the hospital told Tracy it was a poison he was not familiar with.
What we don’t know is how the poison came in to contact with just those three people. If it had been airborne, everybody in the store would have been affected, so it is logical to assume that it was “administered” to those three, which leads us to the idea of a clerk giving a customer a free squirt as a sample. But, if that were what happened, the people running the store would certainly know by now about the suspect bottle, and would have turned it over to authorities. It surely wouldn’t be sitting innocently on display, where someone else might be poisoned by it. And besides, after just one time, someone would have noticed that this stuff doesn’t smell like perfume!
So, how did the three get it? Perhaps the store had a “try it yourself” display, where individual customers can squirt several different smells on different parts of their hands, deciding which they like best. That scenario fits all the facts as we know them so far, I think.
Wouldn’t it have been easier for Daisy to wait until Tracy left the store and some more customers entered to distract the shop keeper? Now all he did was call attention to himself. Hmm…maybe police headquarters has him in their mug files or on a wanted poster. Unless a mirror is in the store that I don’t see how did he know it was Tracy who came in? Must be one of those exclusive stores, then perhaps women don’t shop in groups like they used to.
Another nice hat day. Daisy sports a dapper derby (or bowler as they call it across the pond) with a fancy feather in the left side of a wide hatband with no visible faux bow. Tracy’s fedora again sports a hatband bow on the right side.

Man, you can’t get good help these days. That was the single most suspicious thing he could do.

Now – does the store have a security camera? Is Sam lurking outside? This story is moving faster than Daisy!

Daisy looks like a guy who would be shopping in a cologne/perfume store.

I see by the shirt with one button that Daisy shops at the same clothing store as Daddy Warbucks and Dagwood.
