With the pandemic haven’t gone to any of my doctors. I am on meds I need, I feel alright, other than old age stuff. Plus not a fan of doctors. Last one I went too he found even more wrong with me. An aneurysm at the top of the list. Now the dentist I love and can’t wait I can go back and see them.
It depends on the pain. There are the usual Familiar Pains and there are New Pains. It also depends whether it’s Internal or External, Acute or Chronic, and if there are other symptoms.
A sign of our times. Instead of an analog gauge which might warn of a gradual decline, one gets a single flashing light when situation is almost out of control.
Most of the time, the check engine light is a non-essential system like a failing environmental sensor. The idiot light to really watch is the oil light and whatever tells you the car has overheated.
I had a doctor explain it exactly like this – only he went on to say my pain syndrome was like when a car’s check engine light is broken and comes on for no reason…

You know what you learn falling off your skateboard without all the padding? You learn not to fall off the skateboard.

Pain is Nature’s way of telling you you are doing it wrong. Death is Nature’s way of telling you to slow down.
