National Peanut Butter Fudge Day. I’ve never made peanut butter fudge, but I found several recipes for it. Here is one of them:
Easy Peanut Butter Fudge
2 teaspoons butter, softened2 cups sugar1/2 cup whole milk1-1/3 cups peanut butter1 jar (7 ounces) marshmallow cremeLine an 8-in. square pan with foil; grease with butter. In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar and milk; bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.Stir in peanut butter and marshmallow creme until blended. Immediately spread into prepared pan; cool slightly.Refrigerate until firm. Using foil, lift fudge out of pan. Remove foil; cut into squares. Store between layers of waxed paper in an airtight container.
Test Kitchen TipsDrizzle individual fudge squares with melted chocolate to add some easy holiday glam.
National Absurdity Day. Absurdity Day is a day to have fun and do crazy, zany, and absurd things. Use the day as an excuse to let out the silly antics hidden inside them. You can do things you have wanted to do that make absolutely no sense at all, and it will be okay because you will be celebrating this National Day.
Absurdity Day sounds sort of like certain aspects of my job. We’re always saying the reason we don’t do things in a certain way is because that would make sense. Can’t have THAT now, can we?
My mother made the best fudge. I’ve never made it and rarely buy it. I think the only times I ever bought any was either at Sea Port Village or at a candy factory while on a trip.
Seems like going on strike is a lot of work for Chesney. More bad news – the one person who died in the fire up north turned out to be a lovely lady my sister and I knew from a ranch where we used to ride. Her childhood home was lost, as was all of her beautiful artwork, she was also a talented poet. She apparently had a heart attack while trying to get here animals out. Her horses were saved by neighbors, but so many animals are missing. The winds were over 60 mph and the fire started in town, many barely got out with their lives. It just never ends.
Given all the nonsense she has to put up with, it’s nice that Annie is taking this so well. Still, it’s probably only a matter of time before Chesney is banished to the loading dock. On another note, saw a squirrel, a wren, and four juncos while out walking today.

Good morning, kantankerous katz !
If the tender was a little boy instead of a girl this cat would be taking flying lessons toward a wall.

Going to Michigan for the Holiday this early am. Will be online as access presents itself, mainly on Iowa 80 rest areas.
