As a mail carrier I once put the people’s mail in the open mouth of a charging doberman that came out of a gate to the back yard left open. A man came running out of the house as I backed out and asked, “are you alright”? I said as I went “your dog has your mail”.

Your mail carrier doesn’t have to take any risk of injury. If they can’t get to your mailbox safely, they don’t have to deliver at all.
