I’m wondering what happened to the rest of the volleyball sequence. I was sure that was the story arc when Luann repeated struck the ball into Tiffany’s face but we switched to Miss Phelps just as Luann was teeing off. Was the storyline cut because it was too mean or something?
I love how Frank is not touching the conversation with a 10 foot pole! Man how Brad evolved from someone who looked like he would be living at home earning minimum wage a in the fast food sector to becoming a decent, considerate loving front liner with a wonderful wife is truly amazing! His metamorphosis and how he landed Toni Daytona is this strip’s best arc/ story line ever!
When my wife first went to work (many years ago) she was paid $45 a week. A man employed on the same day to do identical work was paid $60 a week because, as the manager explained, he’ll need the larger salary to support his family. My not-yet-married wife, he said, would only get married, quit work and have babies. It took organizing a union to get her equal pay.
Two people doing identical work should definitely get equal pay, and unions do insure that. But if your not doing the same job and you’re not in a union, the individual has to learn to bargain for equal or better pay than their coworker. I worked at a Nuclear power plant and our female engineers learned quickly not to sell themselves short. After talking to their co-engineers and comparing wages, when yearly evaluations came around they definitely bargained their salaries in line with their coworkers.
Does anyone remember when this comic was originally posted? As in the year? Because reading these it often brings home to me how much things change and yet stay the same.
Luann Againn strips are published 28 years to the day after they originally ran as Luann strips. This ensures that they will run on the same day of the week as they originally ran, and in particular that Sunday Luann strips will also be Sunday Luann Againn strips.
If the strips last long enough, the pattern will fail for the Luann strip of Monday, February 29, 2072, which can’t be re-published on February 29, 2100, since 2100 will not be a leap year.
Men can be anything they want? Unless they want to be a nurse. The kind of harassment female nurses hand out to their male counterparts is astonishing. Until they need something done that requires muscle. Men who are Primary teachers are also often viewed with contempt by their co-workers. R-E-S-P-E-C-T ladies, if you want it, you need to hand it out.

I did work for a plant nursery that had equal pay. The owners logic was that way nobody could complain about what jobs they were given.

I’m not sure how Brad will eventually die but a large truck will probably figure into it somewhere. :)

Next day, tell Brad she got her tattoo. It’s a picture of her dear brother. Prior to that, make a temporary one wih a pen on the arm of a butt.
