Yep – I used to do this with the slots. Set a boundary: I’m going to spend this much. No matter what happens, that’s all that comes out of my pocket. Winnings are stashed separately. Once you’re down that much, you stop.
The odds are always against you and on average you’re not going to come out ahead over time. So enjoy the food, drinks, and games while you’re there, and consider your losses the price of admission.

Every time I’ve gambled i have been ahead at some time before I lost it all
Haven’t gambled much, and I set a loss limit and quit when I got there
