About 5 years ago making the bed became more of a priority. The last one up out of bed, if we don’t get up together, makes the bed… so that is usually me. Wifey really likes it made. For us the room becomes more relaxing and the bed more inviting. We are definitely getting more action between the sheets now. Yeah, I’ll keep making the bed!
“We use only the finest baby frogs, dew picked and flown from Iraq, cleansed in finest quality spring water, lightly killed, and then sealed in a succulent Swiss quintuple smooth treble cream milk chocolate envelope and lovingly frosted with glucose.”
According to lore, in centuries past, a daily task for housewives and maid servants was the airing of bed linens. In sunny or clear weather, they hung them from windows or courtyard lines or draped them over shrubs, etc. But, then considering inhabitants did not bathe for days or months at a time, maybe that probably wasn’t quite enough. [snowy, wet winters must have been grim.] Nowadays daily or sometimes twice daily showers or baths mean linen washing can be put off for several days. And we really appreciate both developments. :)
Yet everyone is OK with the middle ground being drinking orange juice right after brushing your teeth? …I guess it does depend on the toothpaste flavor…
These days (since retirement) I generally have breakfast while sitting on my bed watching the previous night’s Daily Show or Stephen Colbert, so straightening out the covers first (at least) helps prevents crumbs in the bed later on.
If you really want to be gung ho after brushing your teeth try a big glass of half and half grapefruit juice and tonic water. THAT will make your whiskers go straight in the morning. I can guarantee.

Yeah. Just getting out of bed sets the tone… not necessarily in a good way.

These days, eating a live frog would be more interesting than the rest of my day.

What’s the middle option? Eating a live frog in bed?

The conventional wisdom these days is to not make your bed for a few hours. It lets the bed dry out and keeps it fresher.

You’re supposed to make them?

Latest is to leave unmade. They air out better.

Gotta wonder how many admirals, generals and such actually make their own beds.
