Shoot, I love Liverwurst…but then I love liver and onions and chicken livers. I always got the liver, fried, from the roast chicken, unfortunately its not good for me anymore.
I like pate of all sorts. I like chicken liver spread from the Jewish deli. But that liverwurst that comes in a tube? No thanks. I think I had a bad experience with it as a kid. However it is the best for passing off medicine to the dogs.
Well, yesterday was a most interesting day. We got only a light dusting of snow. There was only one short stretch of road where it was snow-covered and slippery, but aside from that, it was just wet roads. A very easy drive to work.
But, it seems that dusting of snow was too much of a challenge for one driver in Madison, right across the street from our store. About an hour into my shift, the power went out. We had to herd all of the customers to the front of the store where we gathered ourselves too. We found out that someone hit a utility box right across the street from our store. Our assistant manager was on the phone with the store manager, home office and the power company to see what we should do. We were given as estimate of a 2 hour wait for power to be restored so we had to ask the customers to leave and we had to lock the front door. About an hour and 50 minutes later, the assistant manager was on the phone again with the power company. They told him it might take several hours to restore power because according to them, a car had hit a utility pole and they had to get the pole off the car, then they might need to call in a crane so they could replace the pole. So, with the possibility that we could be without power for several hours, we had to worry about losing a lot of food in our freezers & coolers. They were looking into possibly bringing in refrigerated trucks and having all of us take everything out of the freezers and coolers and load them in the trucks and then we’d all get sent home. While the idea of going home early (and being paid for the full day) was appealing, the thought of all that work emptying the freezers & coolers and loading the stuff on trucks was not so appealing. But, about 10 minutes later, power was restored.
The funny thing is, the car hit a utility BOX. not a pole (I saw a picture an associate took. He lives across the street from the store). Funny the utility company thought it was a pole that was hit.
Re your line on the sugary peanut butter: Organic stores I have been to have fresh ground peanut butter with nothing added and they even have actual peanut oil and not the subbed in veg’table oil the Big Names do. I read a paper that said that they get more selling the oil separately. The real stuff has to be stirred as separation will occur. No stabilizers nor homogenizers added.
Great drawing of a disgruntled Chesney. If Chesney is smart, he’ll take that advice on avoiding Lily and apologizing to Annie, but I doubt he will. On another note, saw two golden crowned kinglets, a rabbit, and four varied thrushes while out walking today.
Just after dark (about 5:30), I looked out my window at the bird feeder and could see just enough to realize there was a humongous Raccoon polishing off the sunflower seeds. He saw me looking, and slowly moved away. I’m sure he came back after I closed the blinds.

It stinks to be you, Chesney. A bit of birthday Karma is coming your way. A pity about the cake, though.
