From yesterday’s comments, to bbear – It was so good to hear from you again. We’ve all been hoping/praying/wishing you well. I hope you’re at least able to read the comics & comments even if you’re not up to posting things yet. Get well soon!
From yesterday’s comments to sweetpeapete – they’re predicting light snow for us on Thursday, but with our frigid temperatures, there is a danger of black ice forming on the roads. If there is one thing I hate more than snow, it’s ice. Sleet or freezing rain are the pits! The worst ice storm I remember having here was in 1976. Lots of people out in the country had no power for a week or longer. But I lived in the village, right by the business district (I still live in the same house I grew up in) so our power was among the first to be restored. I sure felt sorry for the people who had no power for so long, though. A lot of people were buying generators so they could at least have some limited power.
Also from yesterday’s comments to More_Cats_Than_Sense – we had a next-door cat move in on us once too. He’d boldly walk in our house with us as if he lived here. At first, we were putting him back out, telling him he was not our kitty, but that never discouraged him. He kept right on doing it until we gave up and let him stay. After several months, the neighbors moved away without him. He was probably in our house, watching them out the window as they packed up and moved away.
Brad got his second shot yesterday and woke up at 2 this morning with those flu-like symptoms. If I hadn’t read about them, I would have been worried. The person who administered the shot didn’t tell him anything about them.
A friend has one of those VERY costly auto cleaning litter boxes and swears by it. For that much money, I’ll just do it myself.
The other day I asked if anyone knew how to make a pouch out of an old, 1940s mink coat. I never found anything but this morning started to cut it up. This thing was 98% hand sewn. The only machine sewing was on the first cotton lining for the sleeves (and the elastic in the cuff) and then the satin sleeve lining.
Fur EVERYWHERE!! I keep my vacuum there to keep sucking it all up. I made two, so far, fur kitty mats. Those of you who have some of mine know what they look like. This time I used flannel for the back.
Normally, I’d ask BBear to post a picture but I’m not bothering him now.
That’s actually a pretty nice Valentine. Liverwurst sandwiches, really good scratches, and clean litterboxes are quite enjoyable, especially if you’re a cat. On another note, saw four varied thrushes, two chickadees, two sparrows, and eight juncos while out walking today.

It’s almost as charming as Sandra Boynton’s “I Love You More than Cheese” sung by a lovestruck mouse.

OK, may I attribute this one to This Side Up? Or is it Mr Hollingsworth?

Clean litterboxes are great – especially if you have somebody else cleaning them for you. Alas, I have to do my kitties boxes myself.

Today is:
National Umbrella Day
National Cream Cheese Brownie Day. I have a recipe to make these, but I won’t really have time to make them today. They’re really good, though!
National Home Warranty Day

In your valentine to me, I really don’t want to hear about your litter box ~ clean or otherwise. Nice card, though!
