That’s what my cat would do, but without the equipment. I worked from home thirty years ago, would hear a squeaking and would look up to see a mouse flying through the air in an arc.
Actually built one. Years ago, the slum apartments across from the fire station was abandoned, sending all their mice into the world. We became infested. In the second floor kitchen, we built a mouse catapult that would fling them out the open window. Hard on the mouse if someone forgot and closed the window. “EEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKkkkkkkkkkkkk”
In the comical mouse launching books, the options are Mickey, MInnie, Jerry, Dangermouse, the sewing mice imbeciles from ‘Cinderella’ and maybe Rodney the rat if Courageous Cat takes over for Sylvester who was a Tweety bird brain…
Any other comical mice ? Oh sure, lets launch ‘Fivel’ too!!!!
Rare bird alert: lets hope that rodent is getting launched back to Arsenio Hall and Eddie Murphy so smart felines can resist bad Paramount plagues.
I now have another reason to label Samuel Jackson Jr. and James Earl Jones ( how dare he wear a Lions’ cape!!!!) as enemies or righteousness.
I also suppose 4033 isn’t a lucky Queens subway car number.
( Movie trivia is part of an annual UW-Stevens Point trivia contest which I prepare for every year with partial recall of information exchanges. )
Kittens these days are addicted to their devices. When I was young, we had no catapults, and we spent many an afternoon batting mice around with our paws — got some good exercise.

Our cats once left a dead rodent by their food dish. Except for the head, we never found that. Perhaps they catapulted it.

Wouldn’t that be a mousapult?

Too bad it wasn’t the other way around ala “Tom and Jerry.” Not a cat lover obviously.
