When I was a kid, I was stupid enough to try to rescue a kitten from the top of a curtain. Almost 50 years later, I still have the claw scars running down my wrist.
Elvis is, I fear to say, and I know you will be astonished that I say this, since it is so completely out of character and quite unlike my usual cheery comments, but the nature of the situation and the encroaching threat of Lupin’s intervention make this prediction seem inescapable, however much we may regret the necessity, doomed.
Elvis, you trusted Puck to carry you down from an even greater height! Now you’re just being stubborn. (Spoilers: https://www.gocomics.com/breaking-cat-news/2018/11/01)
My cats would dispute right-of-way on a horizontal redwood log thirty feet in the air. I once saw Kirby “boop” Johnny Depp off such a log. He landed in the deep forest humus, meowed that he was OK and had intended to get down at that point, anyway.
Very scary news for me, the recent shooting that happened, in boulder, occurred within about a one and half miles of my house, I have been going to that grocery store all of my life, and I can’t believe that something like that would happen there. I ask you for all of the joy and hope you can give to everyone in my city, and especially to those who lost loved ones to the shooting.

Booping you
isn’t the right thing to do
Lupin, will you ever change things
that you do?
If Pucky could
he and Goldie’d give Elvis their world
How can they
when he won’t take it from them?
He can go his own way
Go his own way
We can call it
another stubborn stay
He can go his own way
Please don’t fall today

From Boz Scaggs: Lido Shuffle
Puck and Goldy climbed up the drape to help Elvis down
That’s all they could do
Elvis ain’t coming down
…….
And next thing we knew Lupin climbed up, too
Just long enough to give a boop right from the top
…….
Replying with a frown, Elvis won’t climb down “just let me alone!”
He said I’ll come down when I’m ready,
‘Til then I’ll just hold steady,
One boop for the road,
Lupin
Whoah oh oh oh
He’s for the climbing, he’s for the show
Lupin’s waitin’ for the go, oh, no
Whoah oh oh oh oh oh
He said just one boop ought to get it
One last boop ’fore we quit it
One for the road!
