Time for some Scottish humor. Any Scots out there? OK; I’ll tell it slowly:
A wealthy Scot landowner gave all his employees earmuffs one winter, due to the bitter cold and wind. MacTavish wore his once, then abandoned them altogether.
“MacTavish,” asked the landowner, “I see you’re not wearing the muffs I gave you, despite the weather here. Tell me, do you nae like ’em?”
“Ach, they’re fine, indeed, Sir,” MacTavish replies. “But when I first put them on, one o’ the other lads offered to buy me a drink, and I dinna hear him.”
The first time I ever saw a Roadrunner I was out walking my dog Molly and we had just crossed the London bridge (the one that was falling down) Molly went after it and if it wasn’t for her leash she would have caught it! I was disappointed to find that they weren’t as fast in real life as in the cartoon.
I was shocked when I saw what a real road runner looks like. They don’t look anything like the cartoon version. Grey with a short neck. What’s more shocking is that I should think the cartoon version was realistic:-)
Those Looney Tune cartoons are from the 1940s and 1950s before the coyotes invested in ACME Corporation and increased their speed.
My European father called them “FOOT! OH!”
I believe it not. If that pic is accurate and over 2 months in a storage unit, the non-perishables must have been blocks of sugar. Regardless what she might have told her husband, I’d believe there was a back door and she went out to dinner with her lover a lot.
There’s that scene in “The Shining” where you can hear the “Road runner” theme song playing on the TV in the background, and it seems to go on forever. Annoys the heck out of me. I don’t know why I’m writing about it.
And Eggo is Danish for “Don’t eat this!”It’s not that the coyote is faster, it’s that the road runner can run through a fake tunnel painted on the side of a mountain and Wile E goes SPLAT!
The the actual Roadrunner were on the same scale as it is in the cartoons, the Coyote would be running the other way. The actual bird is a Robin seized Velociraptor.
What’s up with the finger nails? They didn’t grow like that in 2 months!. From cuticle to tip of finger it takes 3 months, and 6 months for the nails. Her’s look like about 2 years worth of neglect.
Wanda was awarded $100k for that but it seems a bit on the low side to me. I mean there are people that win million-dollar lawsuits for less traumatizing experiences!
The Looney Tunes cartoon suggests that Wile E. Coyote specifically, is not fast enough to catch that one specific roadrunner, not that all coyotes in general can’t catch any roadrunner.

Now I am so disappointed in the roadrunner. What the heck, they’ve been lying to me all this time! I guess some things never change.

As someone of partial heritage from Denmark and who once played with the nation’s building blocks, I already have learned about the bricks’ namesake.

Also, 78% of attempts by coyotes to drop anvils on roadrunners are successful.

Um, doesn’t the roadrunner run rings around Wile E. Coyote in the cartoon?
flashdrive1988 over 3 years ago
Looks like Wanda had her own can openers.
Bilan over 3 years ago
Maybe Wile E’s problem was that he was so busy trying Acme products that he never figured out he’s a good runner.

Aha. I had always suspected Looney Tunes was constantly shoving roadrunner propaganda at us!

No, Burp! Burp!

And real coyotes don’t need Acme gadgets that always backfire on them.
zerotvus over 3 years ago
yeah but.. if the coyote shopped somewhere besides Acme, he may get that pesky bird for dinner…..

Right, Wanda, you couldn’t get out.
Take care, may famed animator Seth MacFarlord be with you, and gesundheit.

It’s a little known fact that ACME is actually owned by roadrunners.

My grandparents gave me Lego a long time ago, 50 years in fact. Those blocks are now part of my family’s accumulation.

Well, coyotes may be faster but they’re still gullible enough to keep buying defective Acme paraphernalia!

That depends on who built the roadrunner. The old Plymouth could outrun a dozen coyotes at the same time.
