Interesting how “welsh”, “gyp”, and “jew” were all different ethnic slurs for cheap, untrustworthy cheating. Almost makes you think that the practice was sufficiently widespread that it wasn’t unique to any of them.
Some of the best roads on the planet can be found in Wales. Had an absolute blast there on my last trip back home, when my wife and my best friend piled into his car and took the ferry across for a road trip (and visit to Anfield). Snowdonia is absolutely stunning, and my wife wants to move to Betws-y-Coed.

Actually, Wales is a WAY interesting little sub-nation. And whales, are darn cool too. Win, win.

Very infrequently I have met people who pronounce “wh” words as “hw”. Mr. Google tells me it’s a Scots, Irish, or Southern-U.S. thing.

The Old English way would be Wallies, all the vowels are pronounced, they only have one sound, ah, eh, ee, oh, oo.
