He’s gonna get those kids killed, isn’t he? And by kids, I probably mean Woodstock birds.

The first time the scouts took us on a 5 mile hike, I realized it wasn’t any different from running around the neighborhood all afternoon, so I left shoes behind and went barefoot. When we got back, the boys were footsore and had blisters, but guess who did not. When the scoutmaster realized I had gone barefoot, he said, “Tenderfoot? You? NO Way!”

Ahh, I recall my Tenderfoot days …….in ’55. Time surely stops for no one.

When my son first joined boy scouts, he was the smallest boy in the troop by a lot (family trait). He weighed less than 60 lbs. On his first camping trip, he was put with one of the oldest and largest boy in the troop as a tent-mate. By the end of the first night, that poor boy was trying to sleep in the corner of the tent cuz my son took up the rest of it in his sleep.

I wonder what Snoopy Scout would think of girl Beagles being in the Beagle Scouts now?

Nobody knows much about Scouting when they first join. Isn’t that the point, learning skills?

Update:

I just confirmed that the osprey nest has a chick! He poked his head up this morning as I watched it thru my binoculars.

Lucy would be a resourceful critic in the coming years.

Bet he knows WAY more about scouting than Lucy ever would.
