In the 60s, audiovisual teaching aids really took off. My teachers showed countless “nature” documentaries, usually sponsored by Shell or some agricultural pesticide company. This was their basic message, along with “nature renews itself”. Yes, it does, if the cycle is respected. If you take out way more than you allow nature to renew, you get what we have now.
