Does Alice even know what fractions and math are?

This time, a little over 10 years ago, Richard posted a blog entry regarding this strip:

If I recall right, Loris is good at math and sent Petey to the nurse via flying rubber bands when she got an A+ on a test where Petey pulled off a C. Perhaps the boys should do their math homework with her though she would likely fly through it at the speed of light…..

Mr. Thompson was so good at capturing children.

Good answers but not necessarily the ones the teacher is looking for. Shows original thinking.

Andre will get a good grade because he’s turning in a fraction of the paper.

Heh. Wait until andre gets to high school math

But he does love Pi…

Fractions are definitely annoying. If you’re going to be doing math, decimals are where it’s at.

I hated “math homework”, though I kinda liked math. But the “homework” …not so much. Like ….why do I have to “prove” how I got to the answer as long as the answer is right??? Such a lot of “make work”…

Vigorously engaging the Enemy (i.e., homework) helps relieve stress! As you grow older, Alice, you will come to recognize that.

Let us just hope Andre is not developing PTSD!
