I feel your pain. I wear 2 socks, why is one missing when I wash them? I have 2 orphans that came with me when I moved. Where on earth did their partners go?

I gave up wearing socks a few years ago. Now they want me to wear pressure socks. That sounds worse than regular socks! Leave me alone!

Most of my socks are the same boring white pattern. I have a good track record at not losing them these days; the good part is that one sock will be worn out so it gets set aside and when another goes I take the left over singles and pair them up. I try to keep socks with like wear together.

    Today is:

    National Zoo Lover’s Day

    National Alcohol Screening Day

National Empanada Day. Each year on April 8th, National Empanada Day recognizes a delicious pastry that comes in several different forms. The name empanada comes from the Galician, Portuguese and Spanish verb em pandar, meaning to wrap or coat in bread.Empanadas are made by folding the dough or bread around a seasoned stuffing. The stuffed dough is then baked or fried. Very much like hand pies, these delicious pastries offer a variety of choices. You can make your empanadas with meat, cheese, vegetables or fruit fillings. However, they may be made with other ingredients, too.

National All Is Ours Day. “Observed each year on April 8th, National All Is Ours Day takes us along three views of appreciation. Either celebrate both approaches to the day or pick the one that best suits you. The first approach to the day can be looked at as a time to reflect on all of the beauty of nature and all the wonderful things in life. Rarely do we have the time to explore all that nature offers us. Something as simple as the variety of birds that inhabit a local park or backyard can surprise us. Venturing further out, we can discover our National Parks or trail system. Whether we look up to the skies or closer at the new spring blooms, taking in our surroundings is a spectacular gift to enjoy. The second way to celebrate the day is by appreciating everything we have. Even when we don’t have much, what we do have is a blessing. This approach encourages counting those blessings and avoiding thinking about the things we do not have. A third way to view the day is by sharing all that we have. Regardless of what we have, sharing it seems to make tough times easier when we all work together. The greatest times and the greatest things in life are those that are shared.”

Wearing mismatched socks is evidently a thing now. For Christmas I got my teenaged granddaughter a package of patterned socks and there was only one of each kind.

I’ve discovered that the missing sock is usually inside one my jammy shirts. I find them there all of the time.

I have a couple of odd socks sitting on my dresser. I suspect their mates are under the bed, and I don’t go there. And do you know that it’s virtually impossible to type when there’s a cat sitting on your boobs with her head in your armpit?

Your poems are great Graham, love them. Katie likes it when I toss my socks on her. She grabs them and bunny kicks them.

Whenever I have a “procedure” the Dr. office gives a pair of blue socks with treads on the bottom. I always wear them home since they would only dispose of them. Never bought a sock as an adult.

Visited an older friend who was issued a yellow version which was to indicate to the staff that he was unstable at walking so as to take extra care.

Some comic did a great bit about missing socks. He realized the truth that they escape on their own when he saw a sock looking sneaky stuck to the back of a man’s shirt.

I’m looking forward to when I can go back to Walmart. My sock, underwear, and work pants drawers are about empty.

They give you those disposable sox because they’re sanitary. I hate hospital gowns and asked once if I could take one from home. They said no for the same reason as the sox.

Cleaned my sock drawer last March. All socks with holes (and their mates) were hand sewn into little stuffed animals and dolls. I now have 80 stuffed animals and dolls to deal with!

A follow up on yesterday’s adventures with the loose wheel nut, on the truck. I took it back to the dealer and had a few words with them. I also insisted that they check all the wheel nuts on all the wheels when fitting the one that was off. The wheel nuts on the other three wheels were fine and torqued to spec, however the remaining five nuts on the wheel that had one spin off halfway when driving, all took half a turn before they too were to torqued to spec. That wheel had not seen the torque wrench when the wheels had been refitted after the service.

Misty is taking her antacid tablets OK, and has not thrown up at all today. If we can keep this going then hopefully her throat will heal up somewhat, and if we can stop the acid reflux then it should heal fully and the membranes in her nasal cavity should recover.

Good poem. Ah, the missing sock mystery. Where do they all go? Some say it’s because of a portal to another dimension that opens up in the washer or dryer. Others say alien abduction, while some people say evil gnomes sneak into our houses at night and steal them. (I’m joking, by the way.) On another note, saw four robins, a sparrow, and two juncos while out walking today. I also saw a plane flying over.
