Espresso never interested us. We still use a $15 dollar drip coffee maker. We have been able to taste many different and good coffees over the years, but by the end of any year, we still have not spent the difference between an expensive espresso machine and our small coffee maker. But then we also don’t chase the new phone models and tv’s and other hot toys that so involve newbies. If something works well, why discard it for something that is only fractionally better but costs more?
My buddy has repaired espresso machines for over thirty years. He is a very busy man these days, and can name his price. btw the cheaper ones cannot be repaired in most cases, just replaced

Nowadays, merely the price of coffee is enough to keep you awake.

$500 will get you a great machine, but $200 is adequate.

As a serious coffee addict, I’m getting my money’s worth out of mine.
Even Fourbucks doesn’t make a Kahlua Latte.

But it’s good you didn’t buy that Peloton bike.

It doesn’t matter how much or how little you spend on a coffee maker, it’s the coffee you use that makes it good or not so good.

Be frank about it

So now you have to use it, Frank, since you paid so much for it. That means a lot of espresso…and a lot of sleepless nights.
