While I’m not Hispanic and did vote for Joe, he’s certainly no uncle of mine like that. (Makes me wonder if any of his Irish ancestors were in the San Patricio Battalion in the 1846-1848 Mexican-American War alongside the Mexicans. Catholics wouldn’t fight fellow Catholics, would they?)
I am unsure at this point what he can actually do. Of course, in the long run, the answer is to help those countries people are fleeing become more stable. We are responsible for much of that instability, and that instability is causing us grief. It is simply impossible to process people fast enough, and the facilities are still overwhelmed from the last administration’s cruel policies.
Unfortunately, the President is responsible for enforcing the law, not making it. That’s up to Congress. And our current immigration laws are focused on limiting entry.
It would make more sense to rag on Congress for refusing to act on immigration legislation for the last two decades, but I guess the Left is more comfortable with the traditional circular firing squad.
While I get the point, I’d much rather see the artist rag on the bad guys in the House and Senate, they’re the ones doing the real damage here and they’re getting off scot-free.
Biden has actually stopped work on the billion dollar wall, which can be defeated by a couple of $10 ladders strapped together. It takes some time to undo damage from a former administration. Money has to be moved around (legally, not the way the ex-President did it) and other resources reallocated.
International law provides for asylum The previous administration ignored that law, so now we have a backlog of presumably valid asylum applications. It takes time to properly vet foster homes for unaccompanied minors. Patience, however, is what we expect from immigrants rather than our critical citizens.
When will this stupid country face up to the fact that any “crisis at our southern border” is just our diseased chickens coming home to roost, due to the asinine, expensive, counter-productive, dehumanizing, corrupt War on Drug-Using Americans? Not only does that support the USA’s organized-crime syndicates by giving them an unregulated monopoly, it drives billions and billions of dollars per year into the greedy hands of the Latin American drug lords, criminal cartels, and corrupt governments, whose fights over all that American loot are what’s making life miserable for the average citizens of those countries.
It’s even worse in Afghanistan, home to 90% of the world’s opium poppies, where Americans are financing both sides of our longest-running war.
Wanna address the immigration “problem”? Legalize drugs! Turn their abuse into a medical issue, not a criminal one. Convert dealers from back-alley crooks to successful entrepreneurs, just as welcome in the Jaycees as the brewers and tavern owners were after the repeal of our original god-awful blunder with Prohibition!
It’s my belief that the problem with the border is this… it’s all wiggley and crooked. As a solution, we should set the U.S. Mexico border at the 32nd parallel North. This would give us a nice straight line to mark off and get rid of most of the riff-raff, at the same time. Regions below this, would be a free-fire, open carry, marry your sister area. Whether Mexico would like this area or not, who knows. If Mexico is not interested, we could have a yard sale.

Guess that would depend on which side of the border you are on.
