so if your hair and fingernails cease to grow after death, then does that mean only your toenails continue growing?

The thing about hair and nails is a reasonable mistake. Skin dries and contracts after death, making it look like they’re growing.

The brain thing has always annoyed me. It’s true that only a small portion of your brain is Activated at any given time, because information can only be meaningfully conveyed with both positive and negative spaces. A 100% activated brain would be like pouring pen ink all over a sheet of paper to write over 100% of it. It would also be the worst seizure in medical history.

LOL! I just realized why the dogs in the cartoon are sitting on stools! I guess that’s a lot easier to get past a newspaper editor than the alternative.

I don’t think any cells grow after they are dead.

Actually the skin begins to recede and it makes it look like the nails and hair are longer.

Are they sure the dogs aren’t just blue because they don’t have a home? I know I’d be blue if I was a stray.

I don’t think that’s the right stool that’s depicted here.

They won’t show a dog turd, but WILL show a dog in pooping repose, which is exquisitely less repugnant, I guess.

I wonder if the blue came from silver nitrates in the soil, much like colloidal silver can turn your skin blue

As to the chemical changes. wonder if they’ve bothered to test the humans that live nearby, if anyone does?

The hair growth after death thing is something I’d rather skip than experience. :)

As to the brain, one uses those parts of the brain necessary for whatever task is involved. That might include large areas or even every area in succession at times, but unlikely every cell is engaged at the same time. Unless, of course, most of the gray matter is has to actively hold the working parts together. And, of course, there have always been examples of people’s behaviors that cause one to wonder, What in the world were they thinking?

That’s good to know. I’ll change my order for the smaller coffin.

That’s odd. So did Alexey Navalny.

    Most people, not so much.

Fun fact: green is the only color that is not natural to mammals in terms of their skin, hair, or fur (eyes, of course, can be green). If a mammal is green, it’s due to illness or some outside source, like the algae in a sloth’s fur.

Brains cells are like muscle cells. We use most of them, but some use them more than other.

The misconception about the brain is that we only use a fraction of it to think. But the rest is used for sensory processing and memory.

Some don’t use their brain at all. It’s obvious from the crap in the news.
