OTOH, my wife(70yo on Sat) did get vaccinated twice-and wound up in the ER both times-and she still spends 90% of the nice days working on her garden.(and wears a mask whenever she goes out and about)
Better than cow manure Janis. This is the time of year that Vermont gets it’s 5th season, MUD season. Mud mixed with manure is NOT fun. It was also the time for planting though. No wonder farmers use those huge tractors. Us peeons had to muck in the mud like your doing to plant the gardens. It was worth it only because of the magic growing power of manure and soil. Things have to grow quickly there as typically there’s only about 3 good months of growth to harvest.
Vaccines are going begging for arms all over the nation. Went to see my doctor today and he said the 50 and younger crowd are the ones that are hesitant to get the vaccine. We both felt that after a month of people refusing to get vaccinated with it available to all ages. We need to just lift restrictions and get back to normal life.
we can’t plant anything in the ground until after the 14th. we have had / will have frost in the mornings from the 9th thru the 14th and the some northern parts here in Ohio had snowflakes on Mother’s day. no one can convince me that climate change isn’t real.

If you don’t enjoy doing it then don’t do it. The past year should have given you a better idea of the length of life and how to make the most of it.

She is supposed to like gardening. And why is she kneeling in the mud. Planting in the mud isn’t a great idea either.

You could work in the community food bank garden. Lots of nice folks to work and chat with.

Good thing she did, mudpuppy bites can be deadly. Bad as dropbears.

Sure you did, Janis. You did it to live life as best you can.

It looks like the soil is a muddy mess. Maybe she should have seen that before she knelt in it.

Anyone else thinking that, every so often, Jimmy likes to troll this site, just to see what will happen?

It’s so much less work to walk around the neighborhood and admire other people’s front-yard gardens then it is to maintain a garden myself.
She got the vaccine so she could have a fling with her college boyfriend.

The tetanus booster is a single shot.

Didn’t need to get “vaxed” for gardening Janis…

Not for nothing but when I was a kid playing in the dirt was part of childhood. Can’t prove it but it had to add to our immune systems.

What the hell? She is all by herself and at no risk for covid in her own garden.

Hey Janis! They DO make long handled gardening tools.
