A Scrooge McDuck comic book circa 1960 described the only Mayan pyramid with a banister. When Scrooge’s nephew slid down it — and promptly fell off the end — he dug up a missing extension and discovered the real reason for the banister. When he slid down the second time, he was launched into a neighbouring pond where the Mayans had hidden their gold from conquistadors.
Actually I like it, too many things are considered religious sites. Seems everything built is a some holy relic. This is lampooned in book called ‘Motel of the Mysteries’.

Lately, the only slinkies I can find (that I could afford) are made of plastic. And they don’t work.

According to the Mayan calendar, when the slinky hits the bottom, it’ll be the end of times.

I DO like the way Petey is always looking at where Cap’t. Eddie is coming from rather than where they are going.

I wonder what the Mayan specialists at the Museo Nacional de Antropología in Mexico City would have to say about Cap’t Eddie’s discovery.

Is it incorrect to use the word “Mayan” now? Lately all I’ve seen in media is “Maya”—who decided, and when?
