Almost all the adults and teens in my group are vaccinated or in progress. We continue to wear masks for those among us who can’t get vaccinated or have weak immune systems. Most say they’ll wear them even after the pandemic is over to stay healthy during allergy, cold and flu seasons.
And, please be aware, a lot of people who weren’t suffering emotionally before, might just be now. Like Janis. The carefree days are gone for some of us who have lost loved ones. Maybe, just maybe, a little compassion and empathy for what you’re lucky enough not to have suffered and obviously don’t understand is in order. It would go a long way toward healing this beautiful country of ours, both physically and however way you want to see it. Enjoy your weekend, everyone, and thank a veteran.
Those who “believe the science” were finally convinced to stay masked do not want to “believe the science” when told it is safe to take off the mask. I say that if a person has a weak immune system and had to mask before covid-19 struck, keep on masking. Otherwise it really isn’t doing anything but hiding faces, making folks feel safe and assuming all other folks have death breath. I choose to not walk around thinking everyone I meet can possibly kill or disable me by simply breathing the same air for a couple of minutes.
Few days ago, went to 4 diff stores and all had signs saying “for those who have had vaccination masks are not required, you can decide.”
Now our governor is giving out incentives to make people want to get the vaccine. You can get free to Valley fair tix, tix to Nickelodeon park, hunting or fishing license, Tix to Duluth’s aquarium.
I don’t blame Janice one bit for wondering. I still wear mine most of the time when I am out even though I am fully vaccinated. How do I know that the people without masks aren’t the same ones who refused to wear one in the first place? I am also a little skeptical of the CDC now because it was just a couple of weeks before that they said we should double mask. And they couldn’t make up their minds in the first place. It can’t hurt to keep on wearing one.
My 50-something coworker spouts findings of extremely low mortality among his (our) age group. Me? I got the shots, just like for flu, shingles, etc.. I’m not so much worried about dying from these things; I just don’t want them.
I must apologize for my comments on Dr. Fauci and his "Mask ON…Mask OFF!’ I hate getting political on Arlo & Janis, but I think I see where Jimmy Johnson is going with Janis. A lot of my family went into a funk, after the shots…..you just never want to let your guard down. Questions like can you still get a low dose of COVID even if you had the shot. My wife is a lot like Janis, it is almost like PTSD, how did you survive when so many died.
If you already have your two vaccines, you can only choose for yourself. My bride stopped wearing her mask today, but I’m still going to wear mine. It’s how I feel more comfortable.
What does it matter, since masks were never anything more than political theater anyway? Interestingly, the new guidelines completely ignore those of us who have had Covid 19 and recovered, even though the latest studies show that we’re better protected from reinfection than those who have been vaccinated. I’m not sure why we’re being ignored, but I suspect it’s because natural immunity is something politicians can neither coerce nor take credit for.
I arrived at it two months after the BS started. My state never mandated masks, never “locked down” and is rated number one in it’s recovery from covid/Wuhan virus.

They say that some people have gotten more angry and aggressive because of the past year of isolation. Is Janis looking to “get ready to rumble”?

Looking forward to the news stories of the proudly unvaccinated and unmaksed continuing to come down with COVID.

Janis: I imagine that most persons reached their decision not to wear a mask by compliantly following all of the guidances.

No mask requirement? Now what will my brother-in-law rant against in social media?

Simple. We stay masked until our county reached at least 75% fully vaccinated. Then we will start going without them.

If you want to know whether someone was really vaccinated, just ask them who won the election.
