Don’t understand the draw that the robot vacuums have on people. They bump into things, legs of most furniture create a problem, can’t go under couchs, and how do they get into corners.
This is one of a series made by a group of Turkish vets. English subtitles for what the people say. They sometimes put Turkish subtitles for the cats (with asterisks in words that would have a Turkish TV editor leaning on the bleep button) but they don’t need them. It is very clear what the cats are saying.
Awwww, the little fangs! ❤ Lupin and Goldie seemed to have found a sporty common ground in the fourth panel. Lupin’s little swipe at Tortimer is so darling!
Getting stuck happens. One must monitor the little darlings, until their little mini-computers maps their path around the apartment. Robbie the Robot and Shark the Robot had to go through the same lessons until they ‘got it’. Now, Robbie just gets stuck in corners. LOL.
For the heck of it, I just went to look at reviews and costs for robot vacuums. Oh my cat, those are expensive! I don’t know what I was expecting, but certainly not an average of $500.00.
My wife Marie is right, I am always half-off the cost for most things.
Georgia said on facebook: " The beginning of this story arc was close to real life; after adopting Goldie it felt like we had a LOT of cat hair. Tortimer has been so helpful to just sort of “reset” the floor each night. He is an iRobot Roomba (I avoided brand names in the comic, but we’ve had great luck with him, so I thought I’d mention it here if it could help!)"
We have a Neato robot vacuum that uses a laser to “see” around the house…rather than the kind that just bumps into stuff to find its way around. Yet, it still manages to get itself stuck in weird places.
Partner has a Roomba that seems to do well, but then he has no cats in his house. Unlike Tortimer, this one has no endearing qualities. It seems to have an annoying fondness for getting around my feet and does not respond to “get away from me, you little @#$%&*!” So far I’ve refrained from giving the thing a foot-based course correction…but then Partner has also learned not to activate it when I’m around.
We raised the legs on the furniture that our robot got stuck trying to go under and put the fuzzy side of Velcro strips around the base about two thirds of way around to keep it from scratching baseboards and chair legs. It’s all good now. If you have pets that shed, these robot vacuums are the best. I’m always surprised how much cat hair mine picks up every day.
I was startled to find that the first notification when I signed in this afternoon was from @skykey! I went back to check thinking that maybe somebody else had made a new comment to that old thread but the bots attributed it to @skykey because he had been the first to reply, but there were no new comments in the past almost 3 years.
Rereading the whole thread was so bittersweet because there were names of so many people who have since stopped posting. For those new to the comments section, @skykey entertained us with the ongoing telenovella about The Adventures of Tre-C and Megan. His sudden and unexpected death left us all stunned and saddened.

It seems like it is going a bit fast, maybe it should slow down. Though after having Lupin jump on it, I can see why it might not want to go too slow.

Goldie and Lupin, partners in crime! And yes, Tortimer will get stuck under couch many times.
face.less_b over 3 years ago
And he has deceived everyone. He is not stuck. He is under the couch collecting the most valuable resource for the Skynet: cat hair dust bunnies.

Some of Lupin’s chaotic energy has rubbed off on poor Tortimer! In panel 2 is he questioning his entire existence?

It doesn’t take a detective to work out who’s going to be Tortimer’s second biggest threat…

With a brrrr-ing spin inside
Yeah, I’m working my way ’cross the rug, babe
Before my battery can die

Been cleanin’ every day (Do-do, do-do-do)
beep! beep! beep! beep! hey!

Katy Perry and Kitty Purry: Roar
I’m used to running all around the room
Dust bunnies and cat hair meet their doom!
I don’t run quietly!
Or bump politely!
I know I must make friends with all the cats,
And maybe the Woman will make me a hat,
I know we’ll get along,
Together we’ll be strong!
…….
I run around, pick debris up
And navigate where I must stop
I make new friends with kids and cats
And put up with Lupin’s paw bat!
…….
I have the the eye of the robo, a vacuum!
Dust bunnies, meet your doom!
‘Cause I am a champion, and you’re gonna hear me Brrrr!
Louder, louder than a Swiffer!
And you’re gonna hear me Brrr!
Brr-rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr!
Brr-rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr!
Brr-rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr!
You’re gonna hear me Brr!
