On his next ride, maybe he should grip the rope in his teeth (to hold it tight) once Tortimer’s caught, and then dig his claws into the circle of rope @ 4 points around the circumference for a better/longer hold???? (Though that wouldn’t prevent the spinning…)
Our dog, Iko, met a skunk in our back yard about four years ago and lost. At that time, our daughter, Alexandria, let the dog back into the house despite the smell. Jumping ahead to last night…yeah, you know where this is going…Iko vs. skunk Part II. And, again, my recent high-school graduate ( FourA’s, Three A+’s, 3.67 cumulative GPA, and on her way to college in the fall ) let the skunk dog back into the house. I was in bed, sound asleep, and the odor woke me up. Have you ever washed a skunked dog on the driveway at midnight with a garden hose?
The result? I overslept my alarm this morning, and that hasn’t happened in years. Furthermore, our house is sporting a fabulous bouquet of wild, mid-west Mephitidae. Finally, we are two days away from Alex’s graduation party, with a houseful of guests expected.
On the other hand, I do have a funny story for the next book…
Maybe Lupin and Tortimer can come to some sort of agreement. Lupin doesn’t try to ride it when it is doing its job, after all who likes to be disturbed when they are busy working, and Tortimer lets Lupin take rides after it is done cleaning.
Most cats have a natural fear of objects that move when they step on them (probably has to do with snakes and cucumbers). In fact, I had a cat that purred so loudly at the vet’s, he put her on a wobbly scale to stop her purring. However, the one thing The Cat is known for is exceptions. I had one cat, Vivekat, who would greet me from the roof when I came home. One day I held up an closed, empty cardboard box. She stepped onto it and rode it down like an elevator. It became part of our homecoming ritual.
I really want to be able to use Lupin’s line one day… I did get to use the line " A llama told me.." on someone asking for directions once. They just looked at me rather confused while I cracked up laughing.
By the time I get here, there are too many comments to read through, so if someone already pointed this out, I apologize. Elvis has his back to Lupin, how does Lupin know what Elvis said?

Sung by Johnny Cash and others: Ghost Riders in the Sky
The robot vac was runnin’ by doing his job cleaning the floor
When along came a cowboy cat a-sneaking through the door
The cowcat had a rope it seemed, and Tortimer could see
That Lupin was gonna hitch a ride,
But that could never be!
…….
The robot vac was feeling hurt, because what Elvis said,
He just wanted to clean the floor, no need to be misled,
And now along comes Lupin, the hardest thing to take
And T made up his mind to show,
Lupin made a big mistake!
…….
Yippee ay—aye Yippee ay—oh
Vac rider on the floor!
…….
Tortie ran all up and down, but Lupin stayed aboard,
Then he went around and round, and it went all untoward,
And finally he did succeed, and Lupin he did throw,
Did Lupin learn his lesson? The answer we all know!
…….
Yippee ay—aye Yippee ay—oh
Vac rider on the floor!
