The look on Sylvester’s face says it all: cats only want to be around people who don’t want them around. Being caught in a hug by a cat lover was humiliating and downright icky.
In the grip of this golden-haired child / Monsieur Chatblanc grew ever more riled. / Since he was a kitten / he rarely had bitten. / Now when forced to watch “Cats” he went wild.
Lisa loved it when her parents took her out to eat at The Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurant. Her parents always let her play with the cats in the back room. Strange thing was, they were never the same cats as the last time she was there.
This lad is adorable Clarence/ in a moment of feline forbearance./ But here’s what the catch is:/ there’ll be batches of scratches/ – and where in the hell are his parents?
..and here’s an addendum from Ish/ who sends you this heartwarming wish:/ when you’re dining Chinese/ may those small lumps be peas/ in that unidentifiable dish.
If you want a cat to be hugged/ and in saccharine pose to be “mugged “/ (for a cat ain’t inclined/ to be closely confined)/then it probably needs to be drugged.
I feel a riddle arising/ one that probably needs revising/ What kind of a cat/ is a “copy “ cat?/ It’s one who writes advertising. (Okay, I’ll exit now. Don’t throw that thing…please..wait..help!)
That missile you dodged was no stone. / I’m trying to throw you a bone. / And the answer you seek, / “copy” cats (do both reek?) / is that one of those cats is a clone.
Always a poor speller, later in life Phoebe moved to Kathmandu where she was appalled to learn that instead of being revered there, cats were instead used to line the clothing of Sherpas.
You make me weep and wanna dieJust when you said we’d try
Lovin’, touchin’, squeezin’ each otherWhen I’m alone all by myselfYou’re out with someone elseLovin’, touchin’, squeezin’ each other
You’re tearin’ me apartEvery, every dayYou’re tearin’ me apartOh, what can I say? You’re tearin’ me apart
It won’t be long, yes, till you’re aloneWhen your lover, oh, he hasn’t come homeCause he’s lovin’, ooh, he’s touchin’,He’s squeezin’ another
He’s tearin’ you apartEvery, every dayHe’s tearin’ you apartOh, girl, what can you say?Cause he’s lovin’, touchin’ anotherNow it’s your turn girl to cryNa na na na na naNa na na na naNa na na na na naNa na na na na
And when the dust has cleared, and childhood’s gone/ and in this world she’s learned she’s just a pawn/ and sycophants on her no longer fawn/she’ll look back on that rosy fingered dawn/and wonder when the wonder was withdrawn/ whilst allergy to cat hair marches on…

It is hard to get a cat to pose long enough for an oil painting. This one took a short break to drop two kittens that have grown slightly since.
