    “I’ve done the math”.

    I guess he failed math. 8 hours of sleep is only 1/3rd of a 24 hr day. Staying awake the whole summer (not possible) would only be 50% more awake time. so 1-1/2 summers instead of one.

    Assuming the kid doesn’t sleep 12 hours a day of course.

    I know a scarier one: School starts in August. In some places the teachers report in July.

    Well, for Dexter, who usually sleeps during class anyway, staying awake at night and sleeping during the day should work just fine.
