Looks like a wonderful way to spend a stormy weekend evening! Goldie is so happy to be in a warm loving home instead of out in the storm trying to find a place to stay dry.
Having spent time “camping” back in the olden days-I was in the Army then-I totally have to agree, camping in a building, out of the rain(or snow) is far far better than having to be out in it
OFF TOPIC:I am getting a kitten! Medium long hair tabby female, tentatively named Gabby – that was the word that popped up when I started typing tabby on my phone. I figure a kitten will be less threatening to Yum Yum and she will remain Queen of the house.
Georgia posted a picture of three robber raccoons on facebook with this explanation: “originally the robber characters were going to be raccoons (They come with bandit masks and dark gloves, lol!) I used to paint these three little raccoons on different adventures and originally meant to roll them into BCN. Eventually the robbers became mice, and these three characters morphed into Queen Mag, Gutter, and Junk. They still pull off heists, and of the trash variety too”
My dad was a camping-aholic so every vacation was a tent. Thank God, Mom finally told him that he was welcome to camp all he wanted with his scout troop, but, since they could now afford it, it was a house or nothing for her. I hated camping, and this made me very happy.
Kimber and I had our first brief outing yesterday and it went really well, I think. We didn’t go far (and she didn’t go potty) and she was pretty well behaved. I did learn that despite the gym and physical therapy, my walking muscles are woefully out of shape, and that must be greatly improved before the proposed vacation to NOLA in late October. So maybe we will try another walk tomorrow. I won’t feel guilty if I don’t take her every day, because another lady down the street (who is a school lunch lady with grandchildren and a lot more energy than I have at the moment) has also volunteered to walk Kimber. But I definitely need to work on my own walking skills!
Oopsie is putting together that he’s safe inside from rain. I had promised him: no more heat, nor more cold when he came home with me. He’s a colony cat that I worked with for the last 3 years. Long before my little Vlad had been diagnosed with cancer (I still miss him and always will), I began working with Oopsie. He’s now home since Feb. of this year. He’s doing very well. He has shown no desire to escape, he like his “cave” under the bed when I’m not home.
SO many great things about this strip! Goldie’s answer in panel 4, her heart pajama’s and the affectionate and very respectful embrace of Goldie by the Girl. I mean….AWWWWW! Then in panel 2 we have Puck’s fisherman’s hat, white chest floof and buzzy safely in his pocket. The magical space created in panel, 3….hmmmm….the one thing that made my brain frown (just my brain, not me!) Is that everyone is looking at the man’s hand and not at what I think is a Turkey shadow on the tent. I assume that this is just because Georgia was faced with good composition versus complete accuracy, and clearly made the right choice. My brain doesn’t know when to shut up sometimes.
Tux the Wanderer has scratches all over his nose and an infected eye. Yet he won’t let me catch him so I can take him to the vet to get antibiotics and anything else he may be in need of.
One end is still magnificent but the other is sad and miserable.

While it is nice to spend time in the great outdoors, it’s not so much fun if you don’t have a safe and secure place to come home to.

Is that a cat face winking in the last panel or my over active imagination????

Aww, who’s cutting onions in here. The last panel is so sweet.

I wouldn’t mind camping inside the Big Pink House!

I’m pretty sure everybody thought Goldie meant inside was worse in the third panel until the last one.

Diego and Midnight hid all during the storm. It wasn’t long ago comparatively, that they would have been out in it.

Outside: Wet, scary, lonely, not knowing where her next meal is coming from
Inside : Comfy, dry, plenty of food and surrounded by people who love her.
No contest

It’s been quite warm & fuzzy, this living inside
I’m not one of those who likes bein’ outside
Didn’t find those who dumped me, but boy if I did
The Big Pink House is still where I’d choose to live
And you can tell everybody this is my song
It may be quite simple, but now that it’s done
I hope you don’t mind, I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words
How wonderful it is, living in your world

I lived in a tent at a faire for one whole summer. The “call of the wild” pales quickly in a rainy climate.

Our cats agree- living room camping is MUCH better than the outdoors.
We had to let our little Emily go today. She was just getting thinner, not eating and had no energy. She was 15. Small, but fierce.
