Janis stayed up to get the late call. I say it’s around midnight and they’re about to hit the road!

That means that A & J are on the way.

The kids live in Florida but what state do A & J live in?

Obviously not a case of “walking on eggshells” around the husband.

I had my husband pack some things once. Then took him on a surprise weekend scuba diving.

I feel like this arc should somehow be including that spinning scene transition from the 1960’s Batman show, but using the Janis logo shown this past Monday in place of the bat symbol.

I once had a job with a lot of short-notice travel. Not too far or long, but an airport or two were usually involved. My wife got used to being awakened by my trying to quietly pack after checking my messages.

Guy comes home from work to an excited wife. “Pack a bag, pack a bag!”, she tells him. Why?, he asks. “I won the lottery!”, she screams. “Great!”, he says. “Should I pack for cold or hot?” She replies, “I don’t care as long as you’re out of here by 6:00!”

I guess that’s why one should never leave the car’s gas light on at night incase there’s an emergency call before the gas stations open.

I think the fact that Gene admitted they needed help is what put Janis in Mom-mode. From about 16 – 30 children don’t think their parents know anything and won’t ask their parents for help or even admit that they need help. When the child does admit it, Mom goes into full panic mode thinking it’s a dire situation. Maybe Arlo will be able to calm Janis down but I wouldn’t place any large wagers on that happening.

I dislike parents who treat their adult children like children and rush to solve every challenge. I treat my adult children like Adults.

I believe grown kids are one of the biggest threats to marriages. Probably a lot more frequent than infidelity or alcoholism.

So are A&J retired? I haven’t seen any mention of jobs in a long time.
