I wondered, since the lions haven’t been given Tarzan’s scent to follow, how the lions were supposed to find him. So… Apparently the gong is sounded, people stay home, and the lion kills anything that moves? Doesn’t seem good for the economy. Not to mention that the gong also tells the intended prey to stay in whatever shed or sewer they’re hiding in.
Love the Ape-man’s expression in the last panel. Tarzan always squints his eyes and purses his lips Sly Stallone-style when he’s fixin’ to get all stabby with a lion.

We need “The House of the Rising Sun” – Animals, and do some Tokens “So the Lion Sleeps” to get this night over with.

Don’t worry guys, you’ll be fine if the lions move at the same pace as this arc. Wretchedly slow, that is.

I give up. This story arc will never end.

A slow smile creeps across Tarzan’s face at the mention of the word “lions”.

No, Tarzan’s getting older – I’ve been watching him since the 1930s – I’m now 100, so he must be older – and slower.

Tarzan’s face is slipping off in panel 4! This artist needs to go back to art school for a refresher course in how to draw people’s feces…er, faces!

Nice of them to give a heads up to the people they were hunting that they were releasing the hunting lions.
