ten years until his driver’s license and the kid already knows how to change a tire… wow

Considering the strength to undo those bolts, and the know-how to depressurise and remove the rim. I am actually impressed. I didn’t even know how to change a tyre at that age.

I wonder how he removed the tire from the rim.

Wonder how THAT excuse went over at the office, dad?!?

I note in passing that it’s a lot easier to just use a ruined tire than to get a good one off the rim. Though you do need to visit a tire store for that.

Pretty handy for a six year old. Not to mention strong.

And to think, some adults can’t change a tire.

How can a 6 yo get it off the car?

At 3 YO our son could take the training wheels off his bike faster than I could put them on. I wouldn’t bet against Calvin

Since when is work more important than fun.

Nah – he wouldn’t want the spare from the trunk – it’s a space saver tyre. He wants the real deal.

That’s very impressive for a 6-yearold. Not just to wrench the tightened lug nuts loose, but to unseal the actual tire from the rim needs two pry bars and a heavy sledge hammer! Even at the age of 16 on the farm I found it exhausting work and I said why don’t we just pay the money and take it to the professional tire shop?

Oh spare me!

And how did Calvin manage to remove the tire from the rim?!? That’s the bigger mystery…

FYI – Meanwhile over on Bloom County, Hobbes has been found by Opus who has enlisted help in finding Calvin. Thrilling adventures and cliff hangers abound.

how did he dismount the tire from the wheel??that requires the actual machine, or some time, tools and strength.

Three day weekend, dad.

He knew how to: 1 open the trunk 2 assemble the jack 3 remove wheel cover 4 loosen nuts 5 locate jack point 6 jack up car 7 remove wheel cover 8 remove wheel/tire (about 45 pounds likely more than he weighs) 9 deflate tire 10 remove tire 11 find rope 12 climb tree (no Hobbes didn’t) and all before Dad finished breakfast.

Calvin couldn’t remove a bicycle tire, much less a car tire.

I’m impressed he had the strength and knowledge to remove the tire.

Hats off to a six-year-old who can loosen lug nuts!

If Calvin has the strength/coordination to climb down a bed sheet from a second story window, climb a rope into a tree house, hit a real baseball fungo style, remove a 45 pound tire then he should be the real class bully and Moe would likely wet himself if Calvin gave him a second look.
