Act your age. That remark was heard more often in the generations born before the 1950’s than since. It was meant as a reproof that one was not acting in the role that was seen as appropriate for one’s place in the society of that time. The loosening of those strictures has been a benefit for most, but there are always some for whom excess is the norm. Self-control and respect for others are still good measures to live by.
A colonoscopy is truly no big deal and can save you from a slow, painful death. The prep part is a bit uncomfortable, but the procedure is over before you know it. I’ve had two, the first one likely saved my life.
Probably the first toon in this series I’ve ever seen that speaks to the general desirability of goofing off instead of some tedious nose-to-the-grindstone so-called “productive” use of one’s time.
First of all, who’s “this guy,” and why is he speaking to a kid he doesn’t know? Unless Caulfield is hurting someone or vandalizing something, “this guy” needs to mind his own business.
A friend of mine was freaking out over getting that exam. I told him he had to look on the bright side. When he asked (very suspiciously) what the bright side was, I replied, “The next time your wife tells you your head is up there, you’ll have medically documented proof that she’s wrong!”

If you are of a certain age, I highly recommend getting that certain exam.

That doesn’t sound age appropriate.

The older you get the more things you should have the doctor check out. I’m at the age the doctor is checking things I don’t remember having.
