Well, even a broken clock is right twice a day, I guess. I was speaking with a friend from church on the phone and we were talking about how Delta is spreading fastest in the least vaccinated states. She said that if enough MAGATs get seriously ill (or even die) from the Delta variant, that could mean that the Democrats could expand their majorities in both houses of Congress. That should really tick off Tucker Carlson and Dr. Laura! Then again, I’ve also heard that in those Delta hit states, vaccinations are now above the national average. Plus those MAGA voters getting vaxxed in secret. So, God willing, the Delta variant will peak and start to recede in the next few weeks as more get vaccinated. Reason eventually penetrates all but the thickest of skulls.

The right railed against covid restrictions, because they made it look like the Trump administration wasn’t protecting us. Then they railed against vaccination, because Biden had won and that made the vaccines something from the Democratic administration. (It mattered not a whit that the vaccines were developed during the Trump administration; it was really all about encouraging distrust of the Biden administration.) Now that it’s obvious the vaccine works and most of those dying are the people who listened to this advice, they’re realizing it’s their own voters being killed off and suddenly they want people to get vaccinated again.

And they have the unmitigated gall to accuse science of having inconsistent messaging.

Unvaccinated people who are hospitalized with COVID suddenly decide the vaccination is a good thing – and suddenly want it… sadly, at that point it’s too late and won’t help them… it’s a preventative measure – not a cure.
