my niece and nephew sat by the door every holiday and birthday from 2 until 20, because their “dad” said he would visit. He never showed. Children have a bond with biological progenetors. They did not grow to be better parents or learn anything from this.

This brings back so many sad memories. My dad let us down so many times doing crap just like this. The only thing he would show up for was when we went hunting. I think it was because we had a bunch of reloaded ammunition.
