When I was in Florida I would place the reflector on the outside of the windshield…it was long enough so I could tuck the ends in the doors and close the doors on it to hold it. Worked much better that way.
Who else remembers what it was like to own a car with black vinyl seat covers? Your skin would blister the minute you got in! And, surprisingly, no one had thought of sun blockers for the windshield yet!
Here in Arizona, it gets so hot you can cook stuff in the car. On a 118 degree day, that’s just what I did. I put a steak in a Pyrex dish and left it all afternoon. The temperature in the car reached over 180 degrees and cooked the stake to medium-well done. The problem was all the liquid came out of the steak so it was tough and rubbery when I ate it. I now confine all my steak cooking to the grill or a frying pan.

With my car, I can start the A/C from my cell phone remotely, but I do use a windshield reflector.

Lesson from Monty: Never buy your car’s sunshield from the dollar store.

Is that possible?

The heat in the car was so hot that when it was released, it curled the front of Monty’s hat. Now that is HOT!

Hey. Why isn’t MONTY in the popular comics section?
When you look at some of those worn out, tired strips, you gotta ask ‘’When was the last time someone reviewed this page?’’

Lucky it didn’t stick to the windshield.

Well, if you live in Phoenix or Tuscon…

It’s a comic but still - Open the doors, lower the windows, and don’t get in right away let the hot air out. Put the towels on the seats.

Now, that’s hot! Leave the doors open for ten minutes before even trying to get in (and let Moonie and Dehlia go first)….
