Now now, boys, I’m sure each and every one of you has stood on that armchair and thought nothing of it. Clearly the Woman aspires (correctly) to be a cat just like you!
Awww…look at panel 2 where Elvis has jumped down on The Woman to ‘protect’ her from The Man. And panel 3, where Lupin looks less than impressed by the suggested addition of Goldie.♥
Put a call out on CN, and Beatrix, Tommy, and all the other cats in the neighborhood will come. Tommy alone can keep a good chunk of her toasty warm and covered with purrs.
In case anyone missed the late post yesterday, Georgia posted about the new Breaking Cat News book, Behind the Scenes with Burt, on Facebook. I know it was discovered on Amazon a while back, but it seems more official now that Georgia has announced it. She also mentioned it will include paper dolls of all the Our IX Lives characters. I asked in the comments if the case of the missing ham would be in the book. She said no because she is still hoping to rework it for newspapers.
Emotional well being is critical to proper healing. I don’t know about you all, but I’m never happier than when I have a purring cat pinning me to the couch.
OT: Do not just microchip your pet, if you find a lost pet please check to see if he/she has a microchip. Pet found in FL after being lost for 5 years, hooray for Tex!
Reminds me of the New Yorker cartoon with the couple with eight cats in bed. The wife has the punch line: “Howard, I’m still cold. Pile on two more cats.”
Speaking of our little furry friends…Belle and Mittens have been glued to Marie’s side since she came home from the hospital. Their purr-motors provide excellent healing.
By the way, Marie is doing great. She is going to go back to work at the end of the week with half days.
I’ll admit that I am guilty of using a chair as a stepstool; in my defense, it was a solid wooden chair that did not recline. However, I now own an actual stepstool.
When I broke my ankle (one leg) and a metatarsal (other leg), I had Big Cat on my lap almost 24 hours a day. He seemed a bit miffed that I eventually healed and started moving around again.
Several years ago I sprained my ankle and I could not move due to the cats all. over me. Healed up quicker than I thought. All that purring put me in a deep, long healing trance.
Why would you attempt standing on an armchair? Because it’s easier than having to move the armchair, bring in a step stool/ladder, do whatever you need to do on the step stool/ladder, remove the step stool/ladder, then move the arm chair back into place. Or worse, leave the armchair in place and bring in a step stool/ladder and have to lean over the armchair to get done what you need to get done.
I really wish we didn’t have to do that to change one of the lamps in the living room, but it’s placement means it’s a bigger chore to not stand on the furniture just to change the bulb. And there’s no place to put the lamp or the furniture without things being in the way.
Trouble (she’s an …ahem…queen sized feline ) INSISTS on either my or my mother’s lap . The other day I was sitting in a recliner and when Trouble came to sit in my lap , it nearly tipped backwards with both of us in it!!
This is a bit off topic this week, but I thought I would share that this morning I saw Jason fighting with Woody Woodpecker. First I thought it was two Jasons, nut the realized the one had a read head. After the fight Woody went to peck a bit on my wicker chair to confirm that he was indeed a woodpecker.
Alternate ice treatments with the application of a purring cat directly to the affected area. The audio frequencies associated with purring seem to promote healing in cats, might easily transfer to help humans heal. Allow a few minutes between ice and cat applications, as frosty cats are less likely to purr. :)
Happy Star Trek Day! Hard to believe it’s been 55 years. And no, this is not off topic, because I know there are fans of ST in the Big Pink House of BCN!

Everyone knows if you stand on a chair the chair back should be against your knees not behind them, right?

The chair reclined?? Another reason if not the main reason NOT to stand on it.

I’m not sure my current chair is sturdy enough to stand on – it complains when I have 2 cats….

For some reason, this reminds me of the Salem witch trials, and the man who was pressed to death. His last words were “More weight.”
