My daughter and I had quite the day today. I had a 10:30 appt at the DMV to get my license and register my car. You go in get a number and wait…. with at least 500 other people in a huge room. After about 15 minutes they called my name, all was going well, I had my picture taken…then the worker ( what do you call the people who work there? ) noticed the smog check on my car was more than 90 days old. So we had to leave and get one. Got back and waited for our number ( a new one) to be called. Got a new worker. All was going well until my daughter realized she forgot to switch my insurance to Vegas from Vancouver ( she volunteered to do it, we all have the same agent) so we sat back down in the waiting room and called our agent. It took an hour to have them make the transfer and send it to my phone, then we got a new number and waited another hour or so to call us again. Of course everytime we got a new person we had to explain everything over again. We were there from 10:30 until 4:45!!!. Of course I got a lecture about the smog check, but I refrained from giving her one about the insurance.. We ate lunch at 5. She went with me because it’s hard for me to hear with all the noise and masks on. I’m beat…
When one of my cats lays claim to my chair, I just go into the other room and shake the treats container. They come running. They get a treat and I get my chair back. Win-Win.
My cats allow me to sit in their recliner anytime I want to. But they have domain over my lap. And the way they have redecorated my couch with their claws clearly show who the furniture belongs to.
Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. I guess that’s why Tigger visited me last night. I dreamed that I saw him.
National Thoughtful Day. A kid at Walmart was thoughtful to me the day before yesterday. I was hard at work putting out a bunch of merchandise from the back room (something the third shift people were supposed to do, but they just “cherry picked” a few things and didn’t put out any of the spiral notebooks, folders, 3 ring binders, crayons, markers, bottles of glue, glue sticks or other things which I was putting out). He saw how hard I was working while still finding time to stop and help them find the items on their list and he asked me if I needed a hug. If not for COVID, I would have accepted his kind offer.
National Power Rangers Day
National Bow Tie Day. Didn’t we just have a Bow Tie Day recently?
We have a thunderstorm approaching. It’s still very warm and muggy out even now past midnight. A county well west of here was under a severe thunderstorm warning (mainly for high winds). I hope it doesn’t get bad.
When my wife gets out of bed, Roy lays down in her spot, every single time. Even if he is in another room. She then has to contend with evicting him, despite his best efforts to appear incredibly cute by rolling on his back and squirming about with his front paws held up near his face. If you have a Cat or several like we do, you know this heart melting look very well, and have a very hard time not being successfully distracted by it!
And don’t even think of trying to get them off the table! Yeah, they own that too. On another note, saw three robins, three juncos, two dragonflies, and two rabbits while out walking today.
