Puck’s battle with the leaves always reminds me of Meimei’s first autumn. When the leaves fell around her, she looked like she was seeing aliens landing!
Well, Lupin, it’s Goldie and Puck’s story, so they get the final word. Maybe Burt will set up a chyron for you so you don’t have to repeat it. News channels do that sometimes.
While Puck was bravely protecting us all from the leaves of autumn, our house panther Bagheera would be yelling at other cats to stay off his lawn. Bravely, of course. We salute you, brave house panthers!
Great title Goldie! Are the leaves turning in New England already?
Geez, the few trees that turn here on the FL suncoast ( FL red maple, sweet gum, cypress, crepe myrtle, weeping willow) do not start to turn until November and often the brown and red leaves are still on the trees around Christmas until winds on a real breezy day blows them all off.
Goldie- He’s graspin’ for Aspens? Lupin- No. Goldie- He’ll search for Birch near the church? Lupin- What?! Goldie-He’ll grapple with the Apples? Lupin- Sigh…just stop…
Faster than a speeding mouse! More powerful than a can opener! Able to leap tall window sills in a single bound!
Cat Voices: Look, up at the window! It’s a bird! It’s a leaf! It’s Pucky!
Announcer: Yes, it’s Pucky, a cuddly visitor from another room, who came to this window with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal cats. Pucky, who can change the course of mighty water bowls, bend paper in his bare paws, and who, disguised as field reporter Puck, mild-mannered cat for a great Breaking Cat News Network, fights a never-ending battle for truth, justice, and the Supreme Cat way.
Maybe I can hire Puck to keep the leaves off my car? These apartments only have on-street parking and there are some HUGE trees that overhang the road. My car ends up covered!
Lupin, I counted the syllables. Most of your headlines – take “The woman is in a room we can’t get into” – are longer than “The why in the sky: When leaves fly”!
I like it too, Puck. Nice job, Goldie. Our leaves down here in Virginia are still green, but I’m ready for fall—especially since my a/c broke yesterday. :( Like Elvis told summer last week, wrap it up, it’s time for fall. :)

Everyone depends on Puck too much. The others should learn how to deal with the leaves. Suppose one year he can’t manage it. Then they will be doomed.

I used to think that I could not go on
And life was nothing but an awful song
But now I know the meaning of true life
I’m standing on the window’s arms
If I can nabs it, then I can eats it
If I just be-leaves it, there’s nothing to it
I beleaves I can fly
I beleaf I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my paws and fly away
I believes I can soar
I see me running through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly (meoow)
See I was on the verge of breaking news
Sometimes no news can seem so boring
There are reports in news I must achieve
But first I know it starts inside of me, ho-oh
If I can nab it (meow), then I can eat it
If I just beleaf it, there’s nothing to it
I beleaves I can fly
I beleaf I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my paws and fly away
I beleaves I can soar
I see me running through that open door
I beleaves I can fly
I beleaves I can fly
I beleaves I can fly (meoow)

Mamas and the Papas: California Dreamin’
All the leaves come down
And the sky is gray
Puck is ready there
To bat them all away
Watching leaves all swarm
Falling harder each day
No time for cats dreaming
On such an autumn day
…….
At the window sill
Puck and Goldie wait
Hundreds of falling leaves
All meet their autumn fate!
You know some kitties like to know
The leaves aren’t gonna stay
It’s time for cats dreaming
On such an autumn day!
…….
All the leaves come down
And the sky is gray
Puck is ready there
To bat them all away
We’re all safe and warm
Puck tries to keep it that way
Then it’s time for cat dreaming
On such an autumn day!

Kinda sounds like one of those ‘titles’ to an episode from shows like Ricki Lake or Jerry Springer! …
But CN aims for a higher bar! … So says Lupin! … (And likely, Elvis!) … :)

Trying to decide if Lupin’s upset about the title of the segment or that it’s Goldie’s segment. Or both.

So
Observation…the birds flew off yesterday. Tommy saw them off.
Today, Puck has to bat away the leaves.
Timing…..Do the trees shed their leaves when there are no birds to hide in them?
Do the birds have something to do with the sudden loss of leaves?

There’s no need to fear, Pucky Cat is here.
And leaves on the lawn you should fear,
And frighten all who see or hear,
The cry goes up both far and near for
Pucky Cat,
Pucky Cat,
Pucky Cat,
Pucky Cat,
Speed of lightning, roar of thunder,
Fighting all leaves who blow asunder,
Pucky Cat, Pucky Cat, Pucky Cat,
xxxxxxxxx
When in this world the headlines read
Of those whose yards are filled with leaves
Who will rake and bag for those in need
To respond to Fall with blinding speed goes
Pucky Cat,
Pucky Cat,
Pucky Cat,
Pucky Cat,
Speed of lightning, roar of thunder,
Fighting all leaves who blow asunder,
Pucky Cat, Pucky Cat, Pucky Cat,
