I have to admit that I have a prejudice against people who are heavily pierced or tattooed. My very first impression (which now lasts about a whole second) is negative. I’m not sure why. I’ve never even had a negative experience with anyone who fits the description and I don’t have any conscious recollection of seeing them displayed in a negative light.
In fact, I get along very well with the few people I personally know who fall into the category.
The good news is, that I am aware of this bias and I can immediately override it.
I am sure some shrink somewhere has a name for this.
Never had one, but can kinda understand small tattoos. Can also appreciate some of the body art for its beauty and design. Just can’t see how someone would take on that amount of pain to get it.
My son is loaded with Celtic art. He fights war related PTSD and he says it calms him to see it. So I can see why someone has tattoos. If it helps or is enjoyed more power to you. :o)
From the Reader’s Digest a long time ago. Woman got a letter from her fiance in the navy. He’s planning to get an eagle tattoo across his chest and wonders what she thinks. She hates the idea, but doesn’t want to be negative. Finally she replies that he should send her a picture of the tattoo and she will get one just like it. The story ends, “We have been married for almost 40 years now and neither one of us has a tattoo”.

I have two tattoos, but they’re targets for radiation treatment. And I won’t show ’em to you.

I just don’t understand people who put them on their necks and faces.
