And she pays about a thousand a month for the pleasure of being on that plan. When people talk about Afghanistan or Mexico border, I always say, “Health Care, we need affordable Health Care!”. Right now, Healthcare is for the rich.
I attempted some mountain climbing this summer and found that my left leg gave out while the right leg was willing to go on.
I had some tests done and I have blockage in the lower portion of my left leg that limits the blood flow. Fortunately, at this point, it only shows up under stress.
I saw the vascular surgeon and his recommendation was that I literally “walk it off.” We’re going to give it six more months to see if I can develop the collateral circulation around the blockage to make the condition go away.
I’ve been walking 4+ miles every day since about 2009, so this is nothing new to me.
Too many people are too quick to want the “instant cure.”
I am certainly NOT recommending not getting or delaying medical care, but give your body a chance to heal itself.
Too many people don’t believe in the once of prevention either and demand the pound of cure. (Gov. Abbot of Texas for one: “No mandates send more ventilators.”)
It has always been the best free plan for seniors who are still mobile. Just a half hour a day can return good benefits to both physical and mental health. Problem for outdoor walkers this year in central VA was 100° degree heat for days on end. Hard on elders. Winter not too bad but still fewer day good for outdoors. So the idea is to walk when one can and try to find substitutes for other days.
The U.S. has one of the best health provider networks in the world. But it also has one of the worst access to that network in that same world. Profit before people is the problem.

I still have some things I can walk off, but first I need help, getting up from the floor/ground.
