Gifted at a young age. I started playing video games at probably 2 years old. There I was, supposed to be in bed when something was calling out to me. Now don’t get me wrong, Dorothy. It wasn’t a dream, I do remember wandering downstairs until I was in front of big TV. A few pushes of a button later and I was playing NES’s Super Mario Bros without any idea what was going on but still managed to win. Needless to say, video games will always be my passion.
I sure HOPE, for Mom’s sake, that he was toilet trained by age 4. In fact, 3 is kind of late… Which isn’t to say that he might DECIDE to do something anti-social…
I think Amadeus and Calvin would have got along fine together. Both mischievous and creative. If they grew up together, we might have an opera today about Snow Goons!
Mozart had a weird fixation with scatological humor. When on the road and being shown off like a trained monkey by his father, he often wrote to his sister, Nanerl, about his daily toilet visits. Mozart was an odd one, but I suppose that much genius must allow for a little strange behaviour. Many of the great composers were a little off-kilter.
When I was 4 I found out that next year I had to go to school for 5 days straight. Never liked that idea. Missed all the daytime shows and it was pre VCRs.
I don’t think I remember being 3, or 4 for that matter. Uh oh! Better not say more or some nimrod is going to take my car keys and start talking slower.
Yep, this strip was originally printed in October 1986, hence the turntable and LP records. CDs were around then, but their players were REALLY expensive, and I really doubt the Dad would want to get a CD player…
MY four year old, almost five, son is taking his time becoming potty-trained! Were MY mom around, she would have had him trained by three! Mommy, apparently, is not in a rush to accomplish this!
I could read at 4, didn’t get writing down until I was around 5. I was a first chair clarinet player at 10, but I never was able to write or compose music.

Concert pianists perhaps have 20 or more pieces in their head they can play flawlessly w/o sheet music. And each can be quite long!

Calvin goes to a place of government-run education (i.e. “public school”) and he was toilet trained when he was four?
Man, what a genius! Most public school kids cannot read, write, do math or know how to go to the bathroom.
