In the old days the dental drill was spun up by a foot pedal. So it took a long time to grind out the decayed material. A lonnnnnnggg tiiiiiiimmmmmeeee.
OMG, WHERE DOES MONTY LIVE??? Is he in East Windsor? West Windsor? Cranbury? I know he’s in central Jersey, but WHERE?!? (This makes me crazy, we could be neighbors!)
Little sister a very long time ago bit our dentist. In her defense, he said he was just going to look at her loose tooth, and then pulled it. She ran screaming to our mom in the waiting room, followed by the dentist holding his towel-wrapped hand.
Dentists top the list of common things people fear. Followed by snakes. When you go to a doctor, you usually figure they won’t do anything. You know a dentist is going to do something.
C’mon, Monty, Get with it: dental insurance is a commonplace nowadays. Of course, it doesn’t cover everything, but it mitigates the out-of-pocket.
Evil Dentist is not a hard act; add a tool or two starting with a drill, and the habit of trying to make small talk while the patient’s mouth is wide open, and the character is There!

I found out too many years ago, that I do much better without the Novocaine. Less issues after although my dentist never gave me a discount.

All he needs to say is “Is it safe?” in a slight German accent.
