Now I HAVE to hear the story of Snowball Taggart’s wild past. Not that we need a flashback-inside-a-very-special-episode-of-BCN, but I feel like there’s a story there.

You would think that with his “heart condition” he would know better than to dance around like that! Luckily, we don’t have to see or hear this balderdash over here in the Grumbling Room. (I knew it was Snowball who framed him!)

Psst! Robin, move your queen to queen’s level 4 and you’ll have him!

Anent TV shows:When I lived in Japan (long ago, now) there were plenty of what I called “samurai soap operas”. These were set in the Edo period, and usually concerned a wandering character who was a master swordsman, and used his skills to bring Justice to oppressed villagers.

China and Korea make a lot of Imperial palace dramas, which always feature impossibly beautiful actresses dressed in breathtaking costumes. Apparently the Chinese government has decided it doesn’t quite approve of the concubine dramas. (Same story – innocent country girl becomes Imperial concubine. Has to learn how to survive and then prevail through all the plots and intrigues of the other concubines.)

I’m sure Korean and Chinese professors of history shout imprecations at the TV when those are broadcast. (“No, they couldn’t have had a love affair! She died of old age two years after he was born!”)

But worth watching just to gawp at the actresses.

    The story continues..

The Evil Sammy the Squeal’s accomplices are finally revealed. It is the Eviler Brad, and the Evilest Snowball McTaggert. Both delight in Kit’s apprehension and incarceration. Old Dr. Young, and his son, Young Dr. Young are working to free the captured Kit before Sammy the Squeal and his goons can get to him.

But what about Paisley? Will she finally reveal to Bandit who the father of her beautiful telekinetic kittens are?

Will she tell him of her fondness of Mail carrying Postal worker loving Field Reporters for Breaking Cat News? As M. Night Sham-a-lama-ding-dong likes to say, “What a Twist!”

Stay tuned tomorrow when Eviler Brad and Evilest Snowball tell Evil Sammy to finish the job, or they will finish him….can Evil Sammy go through with it?

Just you wait, Snowball Taggart, just you wait!

    …….

    Ooh, Snowball Taggart!

With your nice expensive boots upon your feet!

Don’t forget Bandit was one who was visited by Cat!

Just suppose he hears again from the Cat of all Cats!

And learns about your nasty scheme, you prat!

Cat: I have chosen you to go and set things right with your brother and friends

And will show Snowball the means don’t justify the ends!

Bandit: Alright, Cat, I will do what ever you ask me to do,

But what about Paisley and her beau?

“Don’t worry about that!” Cat replies. “You are in for a great surprise!”

In case anyone missed yesterday’s announcement from Georgia: "I had already been kicking around the idea of doing an originals/prints sale this year. With Lupin’s unexpected health scare and veterinary stay, it’s definitely happening and SOON! Friday, in fact, at 5pm Eastern time/2pm Pacific time at my Etsy shop! Link here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/GeorgiaDunnStudio I will post many reminders and links between now and then!To cover Lupin’s vet bill specifically, I’m creating a limited run print from this painting! Yes, 2021 will have a new limited edition print and you’re looking at it! “Get well, Lupin!” will have a run of 66 prints! Usually there are only 50, but 66 and the sale of the painting will cover Lupin’s vet expenses! This print will be $50, signed by me, and first come first serve. (…So, the first person to buy a print gets 1/66, the second 2/66, and so on.) And then that’s it, it will never be printed again! I’ve done a few limited edition prints in the past and they always sell out FAST! They’re a fun BCN collector’s item to own, often with a story behind them like this one. I had originally planned this sale to cover my taxes, yearly attempts at retirement and savings, Christmas, etc. And so, in addition to “Get well, Lupin!” prints, I will also be offering 25 original daily BCN strips, 4 original Sundays, and 2 full pages of dailies (so, a page with four dailies.) These are all original ink and watercolor paintings, they are the literal strips that were scanned and sent into your newspapers for the actual comic run. Dailies will be $250 each, and the Sundays and two full sheets of dailies will be $1,000 each. I have not sold any original BCN strips since 2019, and I don’t plan on selling any more for a spell. These sales are SO MUCH FUN and also SO MUCH WORK and I am JUST ONE PERSON putting these orders together and mailing them out safely. I will also be selling 20-25 original BCN paintings, (calendar pages, promotional paintings, etc)

I don’t know, but maybe Brad needs to be worried. I am sure Snowball covered his tracks really good and might have a back up scapegoat in case Kit somehow is able to prove it wasn’t him and Brad would be the logic suspect to have framed Kit.

I think I am going to have to wander over to the Grumbling Room for a bit . The cuteness level from yesterdays kittens and todays little boots is getting too much for me. But I’ll make sure that no one there has to accidently watch ONL. I’ll stand in the doorway in case anyone wants to know any detail. Just in case. Besides I have to keep track of the big game. It is a good thing I have the requisite eyes in the back of my head so I can watch both sides at once.

Hello!! I just posted some photos on FB and Instagram of all the daily BCN strips that will be available for sale in my Etsy shop tomorrow November 19th at 5pm eastern/2pm pacific time! https://www.etsy.com/shop/GeorgiaDunnStudio

26 original daily strips will be for sale, they will be $250 each. (I did say 25 originally, but I found an extra cute one of Puck and couldn’t decide, lol!)

They are each around 8 1/2 inches x 2 3/4 inches. They’re all hand cut, hand inked, and hand painted in watercolors on heavy card stock. (Every BCN strip ever created is its own tiny painting! I’m very proud of that.) The majority of the strips have the text penciled in. One or two are newer and have inked final text! They are all signed and dated. Many have small notes or corrections, splashes, the stray paint dot, a rare cross out—all part of the process! I used to be a little embarrassed of the notes and little splashes here and there, imagine my surprise when people told me how interesting they were to see!

These are the original, actual BCN strips that ran in newspapers. I paint these four to a page, scan the pages, make a few minor corrections here and there, and send the strips on their way to my syndicate in Kansas City every week!

If you take a peek at the photos, please forgive the quality. I snapped them on my phone as I prepared to photograph them for the sale and package them up. The first three photos are all the dailies that will be available. The other photos are some close ups for details. Today I will try to post more photos on FB and Instagram of what other paintings will be available tomorrow! I wish I could post images here, or I would.

Totally Off Topic: I just wandered back over here from Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, and I’m ashamed to admit how long I hovered over BCN wondering why the “hover over” didn’t appear. (NB: totally NOT complaining about poor overworked artist not including a “hover over”.)
