Reminds me of when my nephew jumped on me and the chair went over backwards. The chair had enough padding that it wasn’t harmful to fall that way. It was a bit awkward getting up from a tipped chair; I got off sideways.
My wife commandeered my recliner when she was pregnant. She could get her feet up AND still get out of the chair.
I only caught promo clips of America’s Funniest Home videos. Did they ever do one on a pregnant woman trying to get out of a bean bag chair? Is that even physically possible?
Decades ago, A friend of mine got his foot caught in the recliner and we didn’t know why he was wincing and screaming….lol! Until he pointed. To this day we laugh about it!
I remember having a good recliner back in the day that would go back in a nice comfortable way. One day while using the lever to recline in order to watch a current football game, it went back to where I wanted. A few minutes later when I reached over to grab my beer, whatever mechanism was under that recliner let go, and I came crashing forward ! Talk about being scare out one’s wits !

Goodness, it’s my Holy Grail… my White Whale of Herman cartoons… I’ve had this one tacked up on a corkboard from the one I cut out of the newspaper…
It’s dated December 27, 1984.
The colors are different, and chair had a fancy floral pattern, but otherwise the artwork and caption are a spot-on match.

Someone has rebuilt that chair

My grandkids loved to play with the handle on the lounger. It’s like a rite of passage when they can actually make the footrest go up and down.

If the kid gets the controls right he should be able to give grandpa a double flip. Give that pacemaker a good test.

Aw, let the kid have some fun.
