Could have brought her a bag of gold and she’d complain that it was too heavy

Myrrh is the incense for cats. They ask for it by name.

They call them “wise” men. Oxymoron if you ask me.

In a society without folding money, Gold is like cash. What parent cannot use a little more cash?

Frankincense and Myrrh where symbols of Jesus future sacrifice. And both also could be easily traded for other stuff.

Since Joseph and Mary were soon to be forced to relocate to Egypt, items of high value relative to their weight and size were wise gifts indeed, especially since they did not arrive at the birth but months later (possibly over a year later) diapers should have already been taken care of.

Also Magi was a gender neutral noun. They could have been women for all we know, though most were men at the time.

Actually the spices foreshadow his priesthood and sacrifice. The gold paid for their escape from Herod and time spent in Egypt. The spices would also have been sold. Sounds like rather fitting gifts.

Better yet, get me the heck out of this murdering country.

The first astronauts to reach an extra-solar earth recognized Jesus Christ and huge gatherings and parties to honor him everywhere. They asked a high leader about this who answered, “When He first arrived, we all welcomed Him with open arms, invited Him into all our homes, and constantly celebrated Him worldwide. Why? What did you do?”

The Bible does not say there were three and they were not at the manger anyway. Jesus was in a house by the time they arrived. Matthew 2:11.
